Well, I finally did it...I ordered a big bore

Nice gun .... When you had the stock off this gun what did the trigger release points for the hammer look like ?  .... on the xp ranger .45 Dan used machined hardened allens to get the low hi power plus a 3rd hole for a mid power but you can only use it by its self for mid power .... I have never seen all the parts on the Bushbuck but from what I see it looks pretty much the same as the xp with out the 3rd power setting .... I wonder if it has a TJ barrel ?  It Looks like you got a very high quality in materials well mad gun to me ...

The trigger is definitely in keeping with the rifle in general. It isn't light, nor should it be. I think 4lb is where it is set. No safety in keeping with old-school your finger is your safety (I don't like the confusion and false sense of safety that provides anyway. I didn't look too much at the trigger assembly other than the simplicity of the unit. I was honestly too focused on getting it lock-tited in and assembling two other PCPs after it.


The quality is spectacular. Reminds me of a simpler Mrod that is built to never break and push a 500gr bullet out. The fancy for this rifle is the rugged durability of it. It is definitely a take me to Africa type rifle. 30" barrel.ame a 50ish" total length is much like my old Mosin Nagant.

No I had my Mrod in parts and was working in the trigger and ditto with my Talon. My wife was gone for the day so Dad time

Yes I will. This next couple weeks are busy but I'll try to get around to scoping it. That .257 is a Lazer.

Incredibly sweet air-cannon.  I never thought I'd be looking at big bores legitimately, but now... here I am perusing non-stop.  And after spending close to that EACH on my Leshiy and Lelya, I can state flat out the airguns in the upper range are worth what you pay (by and large).  I'll have to keep a couple tabs open so when my wife gets home this afternoon she sees a Bushbuck; she's going to be thinking about 'em.  And we have the space to shoot long distance, too.

@Matthias- if you are still considering a Lelya in .25, lemme tell ya- it's a superb and incredibly fun PCP.  I bought one for me and my wife (back then girlfriend) immediately laid claim.  Hades are a perfect match, and the accuracy warrants high quality glass.

I shoot a DAQ .458 and I have a bunch of molds but my current favorite is the Noe 458-244-FN-CA4 4 Cavity RG4 BT. It’s light and has a nice flat trajectory and kick is much more civilized.

I powder coat and lube with 10 weight RC silicone shock oil, otherwise I end up with an extended cleaning session with a Lead fouled barrel.

Even with this light bullet I get 450+ FPE.

I use powder coat powders using the “shake  and bake” method. Smoke4320 is a member here and the AGG and he sells excellent powders. Avoid harbor freight powders. My two best performing powders are Eastwood Ford Light Blue, and Smoke’s Signal Blue.







Yep I’m co-owner / admin of the AirGunGuild.com with Alan Applegate. Travis Whitney started it with me taking care of the technical aspects a few years back. He bought the GTA and sold/transferred the AGG over to Alan. The GTA was my first airgun forum and I remain a loyal follower.

At the very least I would lube your bullets with shock oil and clean your barrel after each shooting session. Big Bores and soft lead are a ton of fun but the barrels foul. Keep it clean or suffer!

Powder coating hollow points is a bit of a pain, you need to make sure to tap the powder out of the point, and sometimes you need to dig it out.

What about car wax on the powder coated ammo, would that keep the fouling down? I really want dry rounds at the end of the process.

And I certainly don't want to repeat the fouling that I've already had, but I think that was due to the condition of the barrel, and the junk alloy that I bought on Amazon.

I suggest checking out the Arsenal molds as well. I've been impressed with the two that I have bought. They have a good selection and up to 5 cavities make for fast bullet production.
