Is a .30 caliber airgun REALLY deadlier than a .25?

Old thread resurrected. I guess both calibers were not lethal enough to kill this debate.

IMO interesting tests & interesting results. Some data NOT statistically significant.

Lethality conclusions based on incomplete penetration data alone?

IMO better lethality is an erroneous conclusion. The only valid conclusion here based on the specific test data is that the 25 "tends" to penetrate certain targets better than the 30. Whether or not one is more lethal than the other cannot be stated with certainty.

There are cases where better energy transfer to the target results in more/better/faster(?) terminal damage. This could apply to either caliber!

Looks like there may have been a preference chosen before the data was collected?

Regardless, there are MANY variables involved in choosing a specific tool for a specific job. Pros and Cons for each caliber depending very much on target, range, accuracy, and location conditions.

This is clearly an opinion piece and not a scientific study.

Thanks, but I'll pick my tools based on how they actually perform for my specific applications :-)
