Its been quite the year and without getting into political stuff I'm going to just explain what we are doing and why! During the last few years YouTube has been shutting down and deleting videos that are gun related. Just this year during our GTA Air Gun Expo we were closed down on the second day for a violation. Now this was almost a complete catastrophe but we moved the show over to Facebook just to save the show and fortunately it worked out ok but we nearly lost 6 months of planning. This year also I as well as many others have had videos pulled on YouTube for again violations. They keep changing the rules and making them up as they go and we have NO recourse. After talking with many contributors and even manufacturers we came up with THE IDEA!.

THE ARK (airgun repository of knowledge)
We will have our own gate for ANYONE to post their videos with child gates for the various type of guns and equipment! The videos will be uploaded on VIMEO and put directly in the ARK for safe keeping. So If you make videos or want to get yourself a Vimeo account and upload all the videos you want in its correct category. NO YouTube videos will be allowed or any other method of upload. We will have easy to follow well defined rules so no one will be guessing if their video is ok or not. Its time we make a stand and we will do it here in the ARK. Its a big endeavor for the GTA but one that someone needed to do. God Bless you all and happy shooting. Travis

Is Vimeo free speech or not? Who are they owned by?

Yes they are unaffiliated and we have been in direct contact with them. They dont post videos or host videos online like YouTube they just provide a paid service for users. Vimeo Its as good as it can be in todays world. There is no perfect scenario that doesn't cost a billion dollars to perform and implement. This is the way.

I just noticed a link to ARK last night, did not investigate, but now I know. Will see If my VEMO account is still active.

Odysee.com a few people moved there when their firearms channels got whacked, but there is basically nothing in the airgun areas. Pretty much as easy as YT and they do offer live to some channels. It is unclaimed territory for the adventurous explorer looking to put down stakes.

That will need to be changed before we begin getting unwanted posts....

With Vimeo you just drop it into this area like you do with YouTube it’s that simple.

Cool. I've just started an airgun oriented channel on Youtube. I'll just go ahead and move it to Vimeo.

I use my Vimeo to upload to YouTube. That way I have my videos saved

Cool, just making sure it wasn't an oversight.

Sadly, I spend much of my time monitoring the forum from my work desk. The steel curtain that the IT department has installed around our intranet has me blocked for such things as YouTube and Vimeo. They also block access to FaceBook but I'm not the least upset by that one..

I have to wait until I get home to view embedded videos.

If a Vimeo account is required then server or no the GTA is NOT hosting the videos unless you have secured a server AT Vimeo. Please explain further.
