Re-sealing an old Hammerli CO2 Pistol

I recently rebuilt this and since there is not much I could find on the web about it, I thought I would share what I learned.
The Sparkler has the same general shape as the Master and Single but is a round ball repeater.
You load five (lead) BB's through the hole on top of the receiver, then shoot by pulling back on the knob at the back like you are cocking a Ruger .22 Mark.
The balls are gravity fed and I never had a failure to feed.
To begin you loosen the screw below the trigger guard.
The top half of the gun looks like this:
The screw to the right of the trigger housing is removed to allow the gas chamber to be unscrewed from the rear.
Also remove the small screw at the junction between the the barrel and the main tube.
You also need to remove the small plate in front of the trigger - this allows the sear to tilt down and clear the front sub assembly from the main tube.
In this photo the gas chamber is screwed back into the inner chamber.
Remove the two screws at 3 & 9 O'clock and the entire mechanism comes out the back.
The exhaust valve comes out the front by unscrewing from the gas chamber.
I forgot to take a picture of the steel collar that is captured between the spring and the gas chamber.

The brass part under the spring in this photo is where the seal lives.
The biggest challenge was removing the hardened rubber seal without damaging the brass.
As there are no replacement parts available, I had to find a way to make my own.
This took some trial and error.
The winning combination was a soft washer cut from the a cell phone case under a urethane washer.
I shot a bunch of lead BB's before the 8 grams of CO2 ran out - so I think the gun is pretty frugal on gas.
Overall a pretty simple gun - it's a shame someone doesn't make a modern version.
Cheers

Thanks, Nikola.
That's excellent information. A friend has one that I may have to get in to.
Stay safe,
J~
