Musings on the 362 ?

I'll be getting rid of more of my air rifles that I'm not using - I'm giving them out to the guys at work selling them is always a pain in the b#%t and I'd rather friends of mine get them anyway. Most are good everyday kind of guns, no Condors, Careers, Liberties, QB78's or anything like that.

I've been thinking a lot about the pumpers that I own and how much I really enjoy them because of their simplicity --- I am really waiting for the new Crosman 362 to come out.

I think they will be a well priced price point gun for the average shooter. I think that the ability to customize that gun is a huge, huge plus for the Crosman company.

Below is a pic of my 1377 that I put a longer barrel on and tricked out. It has a red light and a 1x Weaver rifle scope for fast acquisition (I wish that scope was still available). ---- If this gun had a longer barrel, a longer compression tube, longer pump handle and a different stock -- guess what it would be :-)



This gun is pretty small and thin and I'm guessing the 362 will be the same --- should be very, very nice and easy to carry, wish they were available now !

I may wait for the 362 to become available instead of getting a 392s myself.
Already have 2 392’s and a 397.
Just wanted the 392s for the synthetic stock, which the 362 would cover.
Decisions decisions lol.

Simplicity is why I want one and why I'm planning to convert it to .25. It's going to the 15 yard feeder patrol rifle that I didn't know I wanted until I started casting .25 wadcutters. No pumps, no co2, just grab it and go.

I'm  hoping it is a "Benji Lite". A gun that is easy to carry around, yet has "Poop"

Depending on its power, JSB Jumbo Heavies to a power level of --- 600fps with 8 pumps would be great if possible ! I do want to use a heavier pellet than the 14.13gr Crosman domes.

They hit like a freight train out of my .25 Diana Bandit. Having it in a MSP rifle would be perfection in my book.

My well tuned model 1400 gets approximately 620 FPS at 8 pumps with 14.3gr fodder.  I’m hoping for better than that.  Reports are that it will use the same diameter pump tube as the 13XX.  Perhaps some of the 13XX mods and after market goodies will be usable.

With a steel breech metal barrel band and wood stock I could probably be pretty happy with a 362.
If it uses a 13xx diameter tube I bet a 2260 stock could be modified,  a 2400kt barrel band, and steel breech,  Williams 5dAG or wgrs54, it could be a real winner.

                      For those who don't know, WGRS 54 Williams sight can easily change on the slide from peep to notch type sight if you have both type sight inserts.  I did have to put a taller front sight to match the height of the Williams which mounts on the breech.  Mine slid right on the metal breech but some have said they had to file the grooves a bit on the sight to slide on the metal breech.  It's the combo I would use on a 362 if I get one.  I mount the peep toward the back of the breech or when using the notch toward the front of the breech.

If you go back to the first of second page of the other thread, the Crosman Engineer says they have seen over 700 fps with 14.3 grain pellets and 10 pumps. That's a bit over 15.5fpe for 10 pumps. I have a Maximus .177 and .22 barrel and a metal breech waiting on the shelf to try. I still need to order up a Baker trigger. I want to see what it does with .177 slugs out of a 26" barrel. I can see pushing 18 fpe with a 26" barrel. I also want to see what it does on pumps 2-9.

I saw that too. That’s a good bit faster than the average stock 392.
I’ll be glad when they’re finally available.

The WGRS-54 slide right on the breech of my 2300KT with no problem as well. For my BP2202P it required quite a bit of filling to fit the Prod breech. It was a PITA actually. Pair it up with a DonnyFL adaptor and the .410” Williams 70105 front sight and it works great.
