Thanks Wil. So do you place your off hand on the scope while pumping? It just looks like the ideal spot for leverage, but I keep thinking about the double stick tape.

That is the total reason I don't like ANY of the receiver mounts, I don't want to hold the scope while pumping for sure - gun is pumped just like if you only had iron sights on the gun.wll

I have just stepped off the cliff again and - ordered one... But at least I will now have a gun that can still shoot even when other power sources are down or scarce...
I know this is a 392 thread, but never underesitmate the Crosman 1400 or the older 140Super good guns for a great price point. * note: many of the SEAR's models had dovetail grooves.
Do the Benjis have a polygonal barrel? I thought I saw somewhere just recently that someone had cut back a similar barrel to see, because a captured pellet from that gun showed six flattened sides on the pellet vs. rifling grooves.
I must say the added leverage to the cocking arm is very welcome, this Benji 392s fits in very well with my wooden Benji's for sure !wll

Was out at my spot at 5:30, took a couple of warm up shots and all seems good. Have Monsters in the tube as they seem to be working well and have 6 pumps of California air in the tube :-) This is not like having my PCP guns where I'm able to shoot a bunch of shots and don't care --- with this gun every shot is a physical excursion extravaganza, so I'm particular of my shots ---- Not a bad thing, just different ! Fired a few shots at small targets in the ~37 yard area and she about 1 inch low, which is OK.. Where I go in general that 35 yard area is the zone. With the pellets at 465fps I'm just about an inch or so low in that zone, so I'm fine for Ferals at that range ! I don't want to raise my sights as that will cause my 20-30 yard shots to shoot to high, So I got to know where I am, about 2 inches high FROM + at 20 yards. Aim low on chest on pest for a hit (depending on size of pest - think in general 1.75" above + for hit in the 15-25 yard area) . Takes a little getting use to, but you just have know your gun. This gun makes a nice blind gun because of its length at 36". She sits comfortably in my lap as I wait and doesn't hit everything in sight because of gun length. On another note, I just emailed the company that I bought some pellet sizers from to see if the would make a 5.56mm unit just to resize the Seneca Domes a bit for easier loading in the Benjamin. 5.53mm is fine for my liberty but is way to small for the Benji ! It's 7:30 now and it is still not scorching hot so I will stay a bit longer. As I sit and ponder, I realize how much I like the Hunters Supply butt pack, it is big enough for a few tins of pellets and a few other very light and small things. The top is very comfortable for your cheek for scope shooting. I was also able to attach my sling to the bottom strap so I did not have to drill and tap the stock. The velcro on that strap is tough stuff ! The pack I got was the shotgun version because I wanted the bigger shell holders so I could use them to hold vials for pellets if I wanted. Well it now close to 8:30 and things are starting to heat up, one more shot at small rocks on the roof and I'm out a here. Later, wll

Later, wllSo lessee, here - The gun slows you down to make each shot count. check. The pumping provides physical exercise, check. The compact size is better for handling and blind use, check. And I'll be receiving all this since I have one ordered and incoming, check. But now I realize I have to get a Hunters Supply butt pack as well, because it is big enough for extra tins of pellets and other light small things, check. The top of this butt pack creates a nice cheek rest, check. The bottom becomes a nice sling attachment point, check. And the shotgun version of butt pack has more space so better get that one, check.Dang it wil, you are a super enabler without (probably) even knowing it!
