When I converted my .177 to .22 I picked up the LW & Crosman barrels. Installed the Crosman barrel & it’s a great barrel. I shoot the plain ol’ Cpdm’s out of it. Shoots good enough I didn’t worry with putting the LW barrel in it, it’s sitting in my closet. Here’s a couple of targets setup with the BStaley mod running 19-20fpe.

I love LW barrels, but I found that if you Re-crown the original barrel it will shoot more accurately, I did it to mine and now it shoots as good as my LW barreled Marauder rifle and my HW100's, if your barrel is too worn, just get a new stock barrel and re-crown it, factory crown is not that good, it would be cheaper and really easy to do.

Finally a solid update!

So while I had placed the order for the new barrel back when this topic was originally posted… it has taken until now for that barrel to finally ship. I received my first shipment of miscellaneous ordered parts rather quickly. After multiple months of phone calls and being told “the product is backordered” I have just received an email, shy of 1am that it is being shipped. I have already conducted testing on group sizes with multiple types of ammo on the original barrel. Stay tuned for future updates along with accuracy of the new barrel and the same pellets previously tested in a head to head showdown.

With your present barrel, when you push the bolt forward to load the pellet, is it smooth or feels notchy ?
Lot of times the burr on the transfer port catches on the pellet and shaves it or skews its alignment axially.

That is not the problem with this barrel. This barrel comes from 2014 when they were known to have poor QC. Even new the barrel has never had a problem with the TP area or the throat hanging up. I have also installed the full Tim Hill regulated matched parts kit. Meaning that I have also drilled and reamed the TP for more flow on this barrel. I know for a fact the TP has no burrs or abnormalities.

New barrel just arrived, first glance it does look pretty good. A quick wipe down removed a light amount of surface rust and a quick swab down the bore removed a pretty decent amount of likely dust and small debris. Overall impressed by first glance, rifling looks great. A .22 CPHP loads nicely in the breech and is also too tight to drop freely down the muzzle end, without taking measurement it does appear to have a moderate choke. Give me a little bit if time and I will post all findings including pre and post groups/ velocity changes in the same tune. Again it will take me a little bit of time, as we are getting used to a new schedule at the house, my 2 week old son dominates all free time lol.

Today may just be my luckiest of days!

I called Crossman and experienced great customer service as always have with them on the phone. Ordered a few parts I was in need of. Then stated how I was having a hard time finding a schematic for a BP2264LS (LW equipped Marauder .22), which is nothing but the honest truth. Within a few moments he helped locate the barrel reference and order is placed. Unaware of part number but it was about $96. Totally worth it I feel.

did you push any pellets through the new barrel with a dowel or carbon fiber rod to see how they feel from breech to crown ?
dont use a metal rod or it will scratch the barrel.

It’s been a while since your last update, Kyle.

How did the install of the LW barrel go and how’s the performance compare to the old barrel? Were any modifications needed on the old breech for the new LW barrel to fit or did it just slide in? Also, we’re you ever able to find the Crosman part number for the .22 LW barrel?
