Deeco, nice set up and shots!

I figured out the vertical stringing issue I was having with the Gamo Swarm Whisper, it's the shooter. Lol. I shot three groups at 25 yards, one at 50 and plinked at a rimfire target at ~75 yards, the only real issue I had (after the first warm up group and some wind) was when I was shooting at the 25y target 18" off the ground. Apperently, my hold is inconsistent shooting from an elevated deck to lower on the ground (second photo). At ~24" or so off the ground, no real issues. First group shot not shown, as it's full of, umm... "Warm-up fliers" 

Just a fun way to wrap up the afternoon.

Crosman i can count on atleast one going a stray and busting a grouping.. they just can help it.. its in there blood.🦨

When i do get a 5 or 10 group with out one going wild it geels good instead of let down.

Had a 60-ish degree day with almost no wind today -- did more testing with my new (refurb) .177 Avenger at 25 yards.  First time trying it detuned -- reg set around 900-1000 and zero preload on the hammer spring.  The reg seems to creep down as the reservoir empties ... CPHP 7.9s started out shooting around 830s at 4000psi and was in the 810s when it was down to 2500.  Pretty good groups, half inch or better from CPHP 7.9, CP Dome 7.9, JSB Exact 8.44, H&N FTT 8.64, RWS Superdomes, and H&N Baracudas.  It did not seem to like the CPUM 10.5 domes.   

Best news of the day -- IT LIKES CPHPs, the walmart cheapies, yay!  I'll attach a couple 10-shot groups.  One of those is a head scratcher  -- 9 shots into 5/16"ctc, the 10th (I think) at least a couple inches away!  Pretty sure it was the 10th, and it loaded harder than the rest, but still...  At first I thought it had to be a ricochet off the brick inside my target box, but closer examination shows it wasn't. 

The CPHP and Exacts were the best overall.  I did a test with the Exacts -- something I always meant to try -- to see how my canting the rifle affects the point of impact.  I don't have a level and I know sometimes I twist the gun rather than swivel it when micro-adjust staying on the bull...   I shot 5 shots, one at about 70degrees, one at 80, straight up 90, and 100, and 110 degrees -- way more extreme than canting during normal shooting would ever be -- just to see what happens....   Ummm.  That got me got the best 5-shot group of the day.  Whiskey Tango Foxtrot???  About 3/16"ctc.  I'll attach pics.

Yup, I see a spring replacement/springer rebuild.

As a side note,
I was "fishing" for the proper holdover/ windage hold for my Gamo Magnum .22 @ 100-ish(+) yards and landed a near perfect shot. Hopefully soon I will turn this "lucky" shot into decent group. Only took one mag (10 shots) to figure things out. Lol...
Zero'd @ 40y and still needed "6 mils" hold over at 8X

Deeco, If there's enough spring left for some preload, you could heat the bend of that last coil (red hot) and press flat (pliers/channel locks), then grind flat & polish up the end and get shooting again for a little while... (At reduced power) If you want to.

After a little lunch and a lot of coffee, I had another go at 100-ish yards. Loaded 2 mags (20 shots) of CPHP 14.3's for the Gamo Magnum (Swarm, Gen1). Winds not playing nice, but at least landed most on the paper plate. I used one of those "cover" stickers on the 3"(?) Shoot-N-C target and marked the previous shots...

Still have to work on them long range break barrel skills some

Lol.. dont think im not so cheap that i didn't eyeball  the Rosebud tip in my gang box.. ..   i figure the r9 does deserve a tad better..😁

I finally got (proper) batteries in the rangefinder and ranged a few targets. The post out back (paper plate target) is 105.5 yards, then a rimfire target mounted on the stump is 82 yards and change (previously thought 70-75-ish) from my decks shooting position.

The wind was too gusty for good groups today.  I got some promising looking one hole clusters going but a flyer would always open them up.  So I just pounded my spinners from thirty yards with the Hatsan mod 95.  Burned through the better part of that tin of CPHP’s playing three note tunes on them gongs!

Im down to the ol' gamo but no pellets to shoot it with .  Ill know tomorrow if one of them girls got any or not..    i got 1/2 tin of gamo rockets, but weather stopped me today , and that wouldn't last long anyway.

Lotttttttts...  But still pretty short life .   I dont guess i ever had one go that fast.     

Thing is if pellets were as cheap and easy to get like it was before covid  you could add x2+ to the shot count it has anyway.

In my book for a $400 gun its pretty lame. 

The seal looked good on side ware , nicks, cleaned up li ke new kinda, but face cracking was getting deep around the connection button..    i dont think the guns a full year old yet.

Lucky the gamo is still going strong  after 1000's of more shots ...lol German engineering 😜

Anyway i guess im going with a arh spring and seal to chunk in it and see where that goes.

 For an "Heirloom Gun" these are touted as, that is a definite major failure.
I would be NOT happy is an understatement.
So many breaks in a single spring?  WOW!
