After I received my HW50 .20, I decided to shoot it awhile and see if I could stand it...........I couldn't.
The twang in untuned guns is just unbearable to me.
So I boxed her up and sent it to John in PA for a PG3 tune, barrel chop, re-choke, and barrel thread.
I added a DonnyFL Sumo and it made it very quiet.
I told John I wanted the gun around 11fpe with FTT's and he has it shooting them at 665 fps.
I have less than a tin of pellets through it since the tune, and accuracy is getting better every day.
Will post pics of the gun as soon as I get a chance.
Below is a 5 shot 50 yard group with FTT's

Yep that's good shooting Derrek, I can concur with us assessment on these rifles, I really like these little rifles in .20cal, they are a very good compromise for their power to weight ratio and their made by HW!!!!

Wondering how much of a step up this will be from my daisy 880 in terms of accuracy.

I plan to use it mainly for hunting collared doves and just looking cool after I put a dfl tanto and 2-7x32 Leupold on it.

I want to get studs in the wood for a sling.  That would perfect the "setup" IMO.

Accuracy.
LDC work to a point on springers.  Maybe 5 db downrange and to the side.  Very little effect for the shooter.
Check the Huggets out, they also damped sound pretty well.  But accuracy is improved.  With my Donny's I do not see any accuracy improvement.

PS Also because the barrel have been shortened(stock they are already pretty short) cocking may be more difficult and do not use the end of any LDC as a cocking handle.  Place your hand at the junction of barrel and LDC.

Comparing a pneumatic to a springer, first off, the pneumatic is going to be easier to shoot! Springers have a lot of mechanical movement and require skill to shoot well! but comparing a 880 to a HW is really no comparison! Air guns of Arizona already sells a 50 in the configuration you are looking for, I think their called a hunter model, IMO, the 50 in .22cal is a better choice than a .177cal, moderators work on spring guns, if you use 1 that fit's the volume of air leaving the barrel, the HW hunter models have a HW moderator, and they work well! the main noise your going to hear is the power plant, if you tune it right? all you'll hear is a Suttle thump from the rifle and no report! just the pellet impacting the target! which is louder than the gun firing!
