Wow, the paint job looks great. What did you use to paint it?

Nice!. I love the 850, thats a cool gun. I still like daisy guns, even the new ones. I love my 880. I'd like to get a 22sg one of these days as well.

I'd used the Krylon fusion:plastic red & black (works on metals, wood, ceramic too) to restore a pair of old mailboxes so I figured I'd see if Krylon had any fusion colors that might work for this. Mailboxes have held up ok so far, exposed to the elements & daily use.
They had some hammered ones (bronze) that looked neat.
After a little research, went for the Camouflage (w/ fusion) black, ultra flat that they had at walmart for $5.
It still amazes me how well it worked on the barrel housing. I thought I'd have to use some fancy enamel or special primer.
When working with this paint, make sure you remove as much excess debris and oil (i.e finger prints) with something (like rubbing alcohol, paint thinner, goo gone...etc.). This paint dries fairly fast, under 15 minutes; if you don't wear gloves (nitrile/latex) any where you touch potentially could bubble in that 15 minute window (and you'd then have to use paint thinner and re-spray).
2x light coats (don't spend more than 3 sec in one spot) should be enough most of the time.
The only times I have had fusion paint 'flake/bubble' are when i either didn't clean around a spot on the mailboxes (where it ended up bubbling, and subsequently flaked there after a rain storm), or i touched the spot with my bare hands after cleaning, but before spraying (on the mkII).
So let me reiterate, keep the surface as clean and sterile as you can.
Also i don't know if this is true or another internet rumor, but apparently OFF misquito repellent can cause this paint to 'melt.'
