My uncle J.P. lived on a lake. He had a cat that liked to fish for minnows and small fish. It would get into 3 or 4 inches of water and wait for them. She was surprisingly successful. Fish like to get into some shade, and the cats body would provide that. She would wait for 20 or 30 minutes with one paw up in the ambush position, claws showing. Pretty cool.

We had a Siamese cat that fished the neighbors fountain before we moved out of town, although I never saw it, they did, and I saw the fish he caught. They were not happy he did it either.
