Calling all connoisseurs of spirits

My wife convinced me to quit drinking liquor that is distilled from grains.  I have terrible hay fever and intestinal allergies to grains like corn, rye, and barley.  So I’m exploring liquors that are distilled from other sources.  Brandies are my latest thing.  Nothing wrong with Paul Masson.  I tried some Remy Martin and thought it was inferior.  I like the Courvoiseir.  It has a smooth finish and the flavor complements a good cigar.

 I'm thinking there are some mighty fine dark Rums out there.

Rum is my principle booze.  Mount Gay Navy strength 80 proof.  I also like the Kirkland spiced dark rum from Costco,  Kracken, and Sailor Jerry’s.

Best rum I have ever had. Still search for it here today.

 While at brunch today I sat Infront of the beer taps,  as I was sipping my Bloody Mary, I spied a tap of hard cider so gave that a try for a dessert beverage. not bad on the lines of Boones Farm, but can be had by the barrel

When the hard ciders and Mike’s hard lemonade came out I was excited.  I quickly found that my stomach won’t tolerate the combination of alcohol, sugar, acid, and carbonation.  I love the taste but two sips and my stomach cramps.

We’re down to the Mount Gay Navy strength rum and maybe a pint of the Turtle Key rum.  I’m drinking vodka this evening to economize.

I found this brand light and refreshing, not over carbonated, I get heartburn from many of them wine cooler type drinks. I was craving more for hours after getting home, darn near drove back to the bar LOL
