Mine was delivered at 1329 hrs. today.  I fell and hurt my back Wednesday and the wind is howling.  I'm learning from y'alls experience.  Maybe, I can clean and lube that beauty and shoot a few pellets tomorrow?

Hope you get back on your feet quickly and that achy sore feeling leaves you quickly.   I hope you have as good a luck with your rifle as I seem to be having with mine.

Well, it is tomorrow. 

I walked her out to my shop, cleaned the barrel, and oiled and greased her as the manual said.  Next, we went to the bench and loaded a CPHP, and fired at one of my spoons dangling in the breeze.  I hit it with the first shot!  My teaspoons swing free from their connections and are at a measured 25 yards from the bench.  My next two shots missed but the fourth sent a spoon spinning.  It's a pretty day but 44 degrees in the windy shade is not very comfortable to a soon-to-be (I hope) Octogenarian.

Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer as is Monday.  I'll set up the blown down targets and fire various pellets for groups.  I have one more Nikon 3-9 EFR that I just might mount on this beauty, we'll see.  I think that I do like her open sights, however.  Thanks to all for the nice reports.  I think I'm in love.

I was going to mount a scope before doing a full fledged review but I have decided I like this rifles looks, handling and shooting so much with the irons I think It is going to stay slick topped for the time being.

Nice review and write up.  I tried shooting mine this afternoon and it was a chilly delight.  I'm gonna' look for the prescribed one piece Sports Match scope mount and install my last Nikon 3-9 EFR on her.  This rifle deserves more than my aged eyes trying to zero it.

Joanies' post/message just about talked me out of it, vis a vis, the hard to cock, weight, expense, etc.  I'm glad that I had a vision, of sorts, and purchased #14 on CC's remaining list.  I've shot a bunch of CPHP's through her, since Friday, and am now awaiting BKL scope mounts B.B. Pelleteri (PA) recommends.  Once the Nikon 3-9 EFR scope is mounted, I'll go for 30-yard one-holers with higher-priced AA and JSB pellets.

I had ordered a second FWB from Champions. but due to a snafu, my order got delayed and now they're out. Very nice people, though, and I will do business with them, again. The very nice gentleman did tell my that FWB is discontinuing the Sport, so anyone wanting one better grab one while they can.

Ok last update.  I did throw an old scope on the Sport tonight.  I have sighter high in the info at the top, a sighter off to the left of the bull in the "8 ring", a sighter in the bull towards the right edge.  After getting it sighted with CPHPs it put up the easiest little 5 shout group that is about 2 pellet widths at 19-20 yards.  I, personally, cannot ask for much more than that.  I have found the gun to be very accurate with the irons and it appears it will be a tack driver with glass.

So final opinion...two thumbs up for the FWB Sport.  Thanks to all who pushed me over the edge on this one.



I think with the right shooter behind the gun at 20-30 yards this is a one slightly larger then pellet sized hole shooter.  The CPHP group I screwed up as the shooter, it shoot those much tighter.  I pulled a shot noticeable to me with the H&N and JSB's.  All in all the gun PLAIN SHOOTS and continues to do so with glass.

I had a feeling this rifle would not last long production wise. I am glad i got mine today. Report to follow this weekend. When i picked it for the first time this evening, i though I was holding an R1!!! Had they produced this gun in .22 only, i think they would have been onto something better. Not nearly as “svelte” as the original. I think Feinwerkbau missed the mark going for a faster .177 gun. Actually the same (for the most part) layout of the original, just bigger and ,...heavier!!!! Do i have any buyers remorse??? Not one bit. Still a great gun although not as refined in some aspects. The fact that it’s run is coming to and end, i think i will keep mine a scopeless back yard heavy plinker. 😁 Anyways,  Id hate to marr the finish with mounts or rings.
