New love for the HW30S

You will love the 22. I had read reports of folks who bought one because they had so many other guns and “needed” something different. I look at it as a gun for the aficionado. Those 22s hit hard considering the velocity and mine isn’t pellet fussy at all. Deadly accurate at 20 yards and especially deadly on invading tin cans. It just puts a smile on my face. I’m thinking of recommending one to a friend for bird control inside a barn where over penetration would be a problem. I thought the new ones were out of stock. Keep us posted.

Tracking for the .22 cal 30 shows expected delivery this Friday!  I’m really looking forward to it arrival. 

Now this is just a thought but I would like to try and put up a video review of the .22 version of this rifle so that any others that may think that they want to try it they would have a reference to start from.  It’s a good intention but we all know how real life can get in the way sometimes.

I only have 3 different .22 cal pellets to test when it arrives.  I’ll see which one does the best and how good it actually is and then figure if I’ll need to order some pellets for it.  Hopefully it will like what I already have on hand and keep stocked up.

This thread keeps popping up in my “new replies to my post” feed.  I figured that I would add to this since I’ve had my .22 HW30S for a few years now. 

I absolutely love it in .22.  It’s it probably my most fun airgun.

If anyone wants a superb plinker, this is one to seriously consider.  It really kicks those cans and it will be precise enough for small groups at 25 yards and under.

I have one in 177cal that has a Paul Watts advanced tune and later a Vortek kit in it. St shoots perfectly and I changed out the old original R7 stock of Huntington beach design to the Italian newer flavor. Deadly accurate and just over 700 fps with 7.3gra JSBs. Last year i just bought a HW30s in 22cal. It now has a Vortek kit in it . 13 coils of .113 wire .730 OD and its shooting just over 8ft pounds and 9 ft pounds with those non lead 11.75gr  GTO pellets. Thats 595fps!!!  It has the Rem peep sight that Bayman talked about .Love them both.

My mistake --19.5 coils polished end.  So thats the .113 wire thickness .730 OD spring from Vortek. 545fps with JSB RS 13.4gr pellets and 600fps with the GTO 11.75gr pellets. 9ft/ lb!
