Built my own FX Impact Regulator

 I was having some issues with my Impact regulator so I wanted to upgrade it. Unfortunately no one had a Huma in stock so I made one! Scale from 1-10 on manual equipment for me a solid 9+. The pieces and orifice sizes were tiny and oring glands so small you could easily mess the whole part up in a instant. I started at 10am and had it done and tuned around 1am 😆. Like I said not easy by any stretch for me. I’ll never make another one again. That $125 huma is a bargain!!!

And you have one, finish the hone on the cutter with a fine Arkansas Stone.  Cuts like butter!

Excellent!  I’ve made two regulators and you are correct, the ones for sale are a bargain. If you can find them.

One was for a victor pistol that I couldn’t find one for and the other was for a bottle and externally adjustable. I’ve learned way more than I ever wanted to know about Belleville spring rates and stacks! 😂

The hardest part for me was getting the ‘seat’ correct. I ended up cutting the shape into an endmill with a diamond wheel.

Do you mean a parting tool? If so I also use a parting tool to build transfer ports. It makes the job so easy.

Wow that's superb work for hand turning. I've never heard much good stuff about FX's in house regulators. The one in my Dreamline was huge too, at least 3 times bigger than the Huma's regulator. That's not including plenum just the regulator piece. Opened a few more CC of reservoir replacing it.

What you show is a threading tool, not a parting tool!
Non the less it is a good profile to accomodate O-rings.

Travis that's a pretty good Macgyver on your part ....  , I wish I had excess to a mill /lathe  /cnc  , it would be fun to build my own gun from raw materials ...

Your looking at the wrong picture but yes that’s a threading tool. The parting tool is in the other picture cutting a delrin rod. Other hint by the way is if your cutting tiny oring glands a threading tool works awesome
