I looked at the clock wrong when I got up an hour or so ago. Got myself all woken up... just to figure out how to get back to sleep, Lol. Not much happening today either way, so if I don't get back to sleep it's no biggie.

Woke up at 12am as Betty Lou was coming back to bed after letting Boss out. Managed to go back to sleep until 1am when I heard Boss snoring on the floor next to the bed. I'm not sure when she started running things around here but she certainly did.
She followed me out to the living room and now she's on her bed sleeping like a baby. Makes me want to dump a glass of ice water on her and go back to bed.

Well she is named “Boss”.

 Rplace the limp blower on the wood boiler, then take apart a Sheridan and clean up the guts, so it is ready to put back together when the parts arove.

Well... The Boss struck again. This time at 5:30. I got up and tended to her apparent needs ( a bowl of food and a walk around the property ). While she was out I made a cup of coffee and put on Mysteries at the Museum. Betty Lou got up about an hour later.
Looks like another day of waiting to see if parts arrive for airgun projects. I now have 3 of them broke down waiting for these parts.

Good morning, sleeping has not been a problem for me this week, being able to move the next morning has. Much better today for moving around. Finish loading feeders, change tire on tractor, and work on getting the bolts out of the water pump on the van and try not to break another one off. Yeah, it's going to be a slow process but beats dropping the axle. I am not in no hurry getting things fixed, I know it's old and things are going to be stubborn getting them loose on it.

Slept in a bit staying cozy next to Mrs. P.  Got up around 0815, dressed, coffee.  Heather is watching a 3 year old for a bit today so we have a little kids running around the house this morning.  It’s kinda fun having a little one running around again being silly.  Seems to make everyone a little kids again.  Our youngest is 12 so it’s been a few years having a little guy running around. 

I should be doing something around the house but I’m not feeling the motivation.  I have to go into work later for my last shift of the week.

Mornin y’all!  I had a pretty productive day yesterday tuning the C3622.  It is now shooting like I want it to.  Thinking about heading out to the National Forest with Belle and walking the flood plain along the river.  Eventually we’ll have to come home and work in the garden but I bet we’ve got an hour or two before the memsahib gets moving.

On the flip side I have to put my FX DRS back together at some point it will be like getting a new air rifle as it has been down so long LOL.

Up at around 4 and made a 16oz mug of coffee. Browsed the web and streamed Mysteries of the Abandoned. Once my body began to cooperate I went to the shop to get the morning fire started just to warm things up. Temps are expected to be in the low to mid 70s for the next week or so with no rain in sight.
We need to take a ride out to Sheriff West's barn/mancave. He has enlisted Betty Lou to do some much needed cleaning and me to diagnose and fix a 4' fluorescent light fixture. I'll take a couple bulbs I have on hand and see if that's all that is needed. If not I'll suggest hanging a couple of those LED lights I put in Nick's barn.
I had planned on taking the Avenger with me to thin some of the starlings that are trying to take over his martin houses but the stock tube is delayed until tomorrow. I'll have to choose another gun... maybe the Hatsan Flash QE will handle the task.. The NOTOS is also on the bench waiting for the cocking lever upgrade.
He has a Kobalt workbench sitting outside of the barn that's in really good shape and not being used.. I'm going to see if he has plans for it.. if not maybe I can snag it for payment of our services. I have a spot in the shop for it.

This is the one he has only it's blue and needs a new wood top insert.

Another High-School Classmate passed away and yesterday was the funeral. I came home afterwards but Hoosier Momma (Gimp) went to the wake on crutches.
 Well 4 hours and 6 drinks later she had to get a ride home at 22:00 and I helpped her to bed... Seems she has lost her "Sea leg(s)"
So today I need load her carcass into the "Big Truck" to take her to pick up her Jeep from the Lodge.

His mancave is inside his barn. It's an old 20' x 20' walk in cooler.. he has 2 propane wall heaters and they run with a thermostat.  It's also air conditioned.

We spent several hours at Charles' barn. I made a list of what I need for the lights. We're going to put 2 of the new LED lights and leave one fluorescent that's already there. Charles and I will go to Troy tomorrow and pick them up.
Betty Lou cleaned the whole time we were there and still has more to do. She'll finish up tomorrow while we run into town.
Not many starlings showed up but I did get 2 of them.

2 of the 6 expected packages arrived..  USPS at it's finest hour.   

The stock tube for the Avenger from Buck Rail came so I got that gun finished up.
The cast iron grate for the woodstove also came so I got that put together and stuck it in the stove. But with themps in the high 70s for the next several days I won't be using the stove... maybe next year.  lol
Next I got the Kobalt workbench unloaded from the trailer and put in place in the shop. I cut a new top for it and attached the 2' led light. I've decided to make this my Dremel station and moved all things Dremel to it. Might put my engraving and soldering stuff over there too.

Mornin y’all.  I ain’t sleeping real well but thems the breaks.  I’m the late shift at the park today so I can try and go back to sleep.  Belle climbed in the bed with La Esposa when I got up.  She looks so comfortable that I hate to move her.  Well there’s probably room for me in there!  Puppy pile!

Morning..
Went to bed around 9pm and woke up at midnight and stayed up for an hour or so. Went back to bed and got up at 3:30.. That's pretty typical for me.
The old motor I put on the zturn didn't last very long.. it got me through the season but last time I had it out to blow the leaves it huffed a bunch of blue smoke and quit. Talked to Nick about the eXmark in the barn. The left side drive pump is shot and it's an $1100 replacement. It has a good 23hp Kawasaki motor on it and he told me to put it on my mower. I keep the barn property mowed so we'll both benefit. So I have that project to do in the near future... next couple of days.
But today the plan is to head out to the casting shack shortly can drop a tin or so .25 cal pellets for the Starling hunt at Charles' barn while Betty Lou finishes cleaning his mancave. I need to run to Troy for a couple LED lights to hang in there as well. I'll put in and outlet to plug them into. I can use existing wiring so that will be EZ PZ.
That should pretty much shoot the day.

Man Bill, $1100 for a replacement left side drive pump  sound cheap to get a Ex-mark with a 23hp Kawasaki motor on it... and sounds like a lot less work than the engine swap to yours... but I am not there to lay eyes on it.

 Today, I had to burn a vacation day.. I need to take Hoosier Momma for another follow-up Dr. Appt in "The Big City" at 10:30.
Knowing this, I scheduled her Jeep to get serviced this afternoon. "Two birds with one stone".

 Today, I had to burn a vacation day.. I need to take Hoosier Momma for another follow-up Dr. Appt in "The Big City" at 10:30.
Knowing this, I scheduled her Jeep to get serviced this afternoon. "Two birds with one stone".

Motor swap ain't bad. I've done it once already but sadly the motor I put on was worn pretty bad. The Craftsman, Kohler and Kaw motors are all drop in replacements on these.. even the wiring plugs are the same. I can do it in a few hours in my shop... I have a small hoist that works great. Air ratchet makes it nice as well.
That hydraulic drive pump would be a bit more challenging. Those bolts are hard to get to and many of them are probably rusted in. Then I would have the mess of bleeding the system and all that. The eXmark is a much older unit and the Snapper is only 5 or 6 years old. The first blown motor was all my stupid fault.

  Performing an engine swap on a lawn tractor/mower can seem like a daunting task, but I was genuinely surprised at how easy the process turned out to be. I was expecting something would be hard to remove or I'd have some struggle accessing some bolts.

  I was able to buy a new exact replacement so there was no modding or adapting to do. The most challenging part of the entire operation was actually getting myself up off the ground. I didn't rely on a hoist to lift the engines, which admittedly would have made the process easier; instead, I opted to manhandle the motors myself. Fortunately, I didn't need to lift them directly from the ground, which could have left me incapacitated for a while, especially given my old back injuries.

  I am still capable of lifting relatively heavy objects, provided I can maintain an upright position while doing so.

  I carried the new engine from my truck bed to a spot on our back deck, which was roughly 30 feet away. The actual swap then took place about 10 feet from the deck. After removing the old engine, I placed it on a "sawhorse table" that I had assembled near my tool shed and deck. This sturdy makeshift table provides a comfortable height for working on projects.

  Overall, with practical solutions to work within physical limitations, completing the task efficiently and effectively is fairly easy. The job is just a few bolts, a couple of pullies, a fuel line, throttle cable, and a wiring harness plug.

 On a difficulty scale of 1-10 I would rate an engine swap on my lawn tractor at a 2 or 3.
