What about flies any of you boys have good luck with a favorite fly trap that works great? I have a lot this year more than ever. I can kill 100 a day without even being able to tell the next day it's ridiculous. My pest controller will eventually arrive with fly poison when he gets it but I'd be open to trying something in the mean time.

Depends on what species of fly you are dealing with, house fly, dog, deer fly, or the dreaded yellow fly. Garlic repellent is about only thing I use for those.

Kris they're house flies but I didn't see anything on their site about flies just gnats. Do you spray that on your skin to repel skeeters from biting you btw?

No, I've never tried it but I do see them hanging over or near the entrances to alot of businesses around this area. Never really paid attention to the fly population at these locations. Apparently many people buy into it.
We don't have a fly problem at our place... our issue is bore bees.

In a month or so the Yellow flies will be here.  Mosquitos and no-see-ums (sand gnats) don't bother me but the yeller flies love me!  By April I'll be wearing a bug shirt and Repel with Lemon Eucalyptus oil or No Natz.  Both work well against no-see-ums and biting flies.

I was awake until 3:30 AM and then woke and got up at 7:30 AM
 I always have a hard time sleeping when my wife isn't home, OH well. I feel good, as I ever do anyway.
 
 Today I had to make a trip to the John Deere dealer to pick up my order. I unloaded it when I got home and then did the tax return for the Trust that I was unable to complete yesterday. I had to mail this Trust tax return because of one of the e-file requirements that I could not meet for it. Joy it's done and it's mailed off. 

 I think I am going to relax the rest of the evening.

You spray it on your plants in your yard. It does have a smell to it and one that people would not appreciate you wearing it.  This will solve skeeter problem and not melt everything in the process including your skin.

Dogs actually let me sleep until 6 this morning. I was even up before them. Yeah, you bet I took the opportunity to be annoying to them and made them get up, eat and go outside.

Mornin Y'all.  Went fishing this a.m. but the tide was at the wrong stage so I got bupkiss.  Gotta get started about an hour before high tide and fish til about an hour after.  That's when the fishing gets good around here. I could see Gar hitting a school of catfish about dark last night right off our dock.  I should have gone then but I decided to wait for the morning high tide.  Well I figured it wrong and missed the high so now it's 12 hours until the next high tide.
I could go back and fish our ponds but most of the catfish in the ponds are mature.  I prefer the young ones.  The older ones are muddy tasting. 7"-9" is just about right!  Also, the Bream are bedding right now and I'd catch 10 of them for every catfish I land and I'm not in the mood to eat Bream.

Got to run to town with the memsahib for some necessaries.  Since we are going to Wallymart I think I'll look for a new scope for the Crosman 362 I'm buying.

Sam do you eat a lot of garlic? I've read skeeters don't like it. Muddy catfish doesn't bother me. Catfish that's half gone bad at a Chinese buffet well that's a different story.

Kris their site says the smell goes away after half an hour or so but skeeters can still smell it and be repelled. I think I have some of that eucalyptus oil so that's worth a try thanks.

Good morning GTA! Happy Thursday! I was MIA yesterday, no work. So, I stayed off the internet all day. I put fresh blades on the mower and got all the mowing done and worked on the 100 meter range a bit. I got up this morning at 0430. I don’t have a job on me yet, but I got parts yesterday evening. I’ll call in to the office at 0730-0800 and get to work. We might get some rain today, but the parts I got are for a freezer, so I’ll be indoors and a 2 hour ride one way.

Betty Lou over did it a bit yesterday... that girl don't have a stop button. Well, she's paying for that this morning. I saw her get up to go to the bathroom awhile ago and didn't know if she was going to get there. Her back is all knotted up. She took an 800 mg Ibuprofen and went back to bed. So I'm not sure if she'll be up to getting the plastic on the hot house and I know better than to do it without her because I will do it wrong.. 
That being what it is, I slipped out and fired up the lead pot and mold warmer.

Having worked in some of the most bug infested places here in Florida, the key thing is what you shower with soap wise. Any soap, body wash, or shampoo with a lot of smelly sauce in it is a mosquito magnet. Anything perfumed, aftershave, deodorant, and so one is like ringing the diner bell for mosquitoes. Dial gold soap, any of the scent away or scent killer soaps and deodorants work the best in not becoming a smorgasbord  for mosquitoes.

Bill, I have to deal with the back and stiff body parts on a daily basis, best thing to do is just get up and push through it. I can't go and lay down, because it makes it worse. I just have to pace myself instead running wide open.
