I forget a lot of things but I'm praying that I never forget good gun handling habits.
Quote from: Rabbit\Squirrel Killer on January 29, 2023, 12:28:30 PM I was up at 4:00 AM this morning, about 7:00 I saw a rabbit on my security monitor and I grabbed my Woods Walker and went out to see if I could shoot any. NOPE, I did not see one rabbit while patrolling the property stealthily twice, using road noise from below as cover. I realized my keys to my VTX were missing after I put it away last night. I thought I may have left them in the bike, I looked this morning and they were not there. I searched pockets again, and then places I may have set them down inadvertently and didn't find them. I thought about it and remembered I got my GMC keys out of my pocket right afterwards and that they may have been drug out of my pocket. I went to where I was when I got the truck keys out and sure enough they were there on the ground. I have never lost any keys, and am glad I didn't now. I have a habit of putting them in my left front pants pocket or in the same specific spot every time. Sunday school and Ch**ch from 10:00-12:00ish and Ch**ch at 5:00 PM. I think I am grilling Ribeye steaks for lunch? My wife has a head cold so she will be distancing and taking it easy today. She says she doesn't feel too bad but her ears and sinuses feel plugged and she has a cough or sneezes every once in while for the last few days. So far I have not got the symptoms. It is supposed to rain today and tomorrow. I installed the motor and transmission mounts yesterday afternoon, it me took 2 1/2 hours total this time. I put in Heavy Duty Poly mounts, mounts that should hold up real well.Dan, as we get older everything about us begins to fade... they now sell those small GPS gadgets to put in our kid's backpacks. I think they also sell them for key rings... just sayin'.

Looks good James! I should build one some time so I can be a touch safer in the winter because in the summer I do my casting outside with a fan at my back.
Safe travels Brett.
Good morning. Bill, I share your pain this morning, my wake up call was 12:30 a.m., one of my dogs decided he would go on a bark fest for 3 hours which got the rest of them barking as well, crawled back in bed around 3 a.m. and slept till 6:30 a.m. I feel like I am in slow motion right now. I am not sitting in this house another minute, 2 days is enough. Truck is loaded for fishing so that is what I will do, I don't care about the rain, it's the lightning, being clobbered 4 times is enough. Yeah, I can be illuminating at times.

Knocked the dog mess outta me.I'm not staying inside either.. I'll find something to get into.
Grateful it happened when I was a strapping young man... I don't think I could take a hit like that now. Even though it did not hit me directly, I remember it well. I had a bottle of beer in my hand and, apparently when it spun me in a circle, the bottle sailed into the TV and broke the screen. It was in the 70's and we were preparing to go out. I had a silk shirt on and it burned a hole in the sleeve.
