Yeah, I haven't seen you mention him lately. How he settling in at the nursing home? Is his health getting better?

Mr Black Bear moved into our yard last night and took down the bird feeders.

It sounds like time to call 'Wildlife and Fisheries'.

Not out here, bear are important to our ecosystem and it's up to us to remove the temptation but if it gets violent, we shoot first them call the CO. It's just a notification, not permission.

No trapping and relocation in banjo country.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0430 CT. Back to the grind, and I’m on call this week. We’re supposed to get some rain, possibly thunderstorms today. I can see it on the radar to the north of us moving east already. I guess it could go right on by us. Today I have a rooftop package AC unit to change out with zero planning involved. At least, no information I received. All I know is I have the new guy working with me today. I don’t know what time for the crane, nor where the new unit is. Gotta love it, I sure hope it pours today. That way I can make a plan.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0540 CDST. It's so dang humid outside it's hard to breath.  85% is ridiculous. It's already 78° with a heat index of 83°. I had plans to experiment with my D460
-.22 and Parrus -.22 at 100 yds. But it's already miserably sweaty and sticky feeling. 

Well I just checked,  apparently we've got thunderstorms rolling in at noon. Looks like once the rain starts it won't stop till Wednesday morning.  Wow!!

I woke up at 04:00 am this morning ( zero dark thirty), had a breakfast of hot porridge, replied to Tater's comment in my Umarex post.

I then went for a mountain bike ride at dawn down an old abandoned rail line that has been converted into a state trail. It runs north & south and is west from my place. It is used as a biking/hiking trail in the Spring, Summer, Fall seasons and a xcountry skiing, snowshoe, snowmobile trail in Winter. It is a great ride thru woodlands & meadows and goes all the way north up to Lake Superior. It also connects up with other state trail networks. This trail called the Willard Munger trail, is only 1 mile away from my house.

Today looks to be really nice with a high of 67 F.   It will be back up to the 90's by Wednesday.

This was the morning's forecast for my area. Great weather for an early morning 5 mile bike ride.

It is used as a biking/hiking/ inline skating  trail in the Spring, Summer, Fall seasons and a xcountry skiing, snowshoe, snowmobile trail in Winter. It is a great ride thru woodlands & meadows and goes all the way north up to Lake Superior. The main part is paved. Other by-way sections & off-shoots are gravel or dirt. Along it's way north or south, it connects up with other state trail networks. This fantastic trail, is only 1 mile away from my house.

Today looks to be really nice with a high of 67 F.   
It will be back up to the 90's by Wednesday.

At any rate, here is a map of the state bike trail networks. It shows the main trails and State Parks along the way, but not the unpaved sections of hiking trails, off-shoots and by-ways

Tom, we have something similar where I bicycle ride frequently.  It is called/named the 'GREENWAY' and follows the course of our Stones River through and around Murfreesboro.  One can ride for about 40 miles if all the trails and paths are taken.  I usually go between 14 miles and 20 miles [depending on the foot traffic].

I love bike rides in the spring and fall. In the summer I have to pick and choose the day because it can be so HOT. About 18 miles away we have a bike trail on an old rail line.  It goes about 35 miles. I've not ridden the whole length but it's nothing like what you have.
I'm curious why only 5 miles.  That's only 2.5 one way.

This GREENWAY is very nice - like nothing available in the Louisiana area where I lived.  There is a new section about two miles south of the mapview area that is my usual access point.  Often, I see squirrels, rabbits, deer, and turkeys; and in addition to those, many species of birds and humans.

Cleaning up after Claudette, she finished off what Messy Michael didn't. Yep, it's hurricane season. Mostly high winds from this one but it was enough bring down the dead stuff around here. So out comes the chainsaws and tractor again.

I had stuff to do this morning.  I told my wife that I would have the living room carpet vacuumed & shampooed by the time she woke up this morning and I have done that.      She is still sleeping. 

I also was not counting the mile to the trail and the mile back to my home. It was 7 miles total.
I will many times,  ride 3 times a day... Morning, Noon and Evening. 
When I was a little younger I would take off for a couple of weeks, up the trails, on Bike/Camping Trips. 
If I have the time, sometimes I am still gone for the day.
Retirement is so demanding !
