A thunderstorm woke me up at 0300 CST. I laid there a minute and got up. When I reached the kitchen I remembered that I had left a few dishes in the sink.  That a pet peeve of mine so I washed them. Since retirement we (my wife and I) have been washing dishes by hand and we love it.  To me it's a form of stress relief.  It's calming, saves electricity, and leaves you with a sense of accomplishment. 
The rain supposed to stop by noon only to return this evening for another round.
Shooting didn't happen yesterday maybe after lunch.  It was 70° when we went to sleep last night at 2200 hours at 0345 its 61°. The garage floor still wet from the high humidity.

The kitchen is in working order and READY for GOOD COOKING when:
no dishes or food on the counter
counter-top appliances are clean
counter is bleached
sinks empty
sinks bleached and scrubbed
dishwasher empty

In that state, and enough food, I can cook for 20 people, just stay out of the way.The handwashing of dishes immediately after use of said dishes is ideal.

I just went out a tested the snow shovel, no, bad plan. I did the sidewalk and in front of the garage and that’s enough. Close to 6”, but not as fluffy as I thought. And it’s coming out of the East, off the lake which us usually heavier snow.

I refreshed my gas can on Sunday and I made sure the machine ran back in October. That includes loctite on many of the fasteners. It old and likes to rattle itself loose, but it was free and has served me well for 20+ years with a little yearly attention.

The dishwasher is an illusion and false hope. When it gets used the job is NEVER done. It seems to actually make more work.

I did a lot of restaurant kitchen work, fancy places with lots of pressure, in my younger years and got 'schooled' there on how run a kitchen. Invaluable knowledge and habits for the kitchen and the workshop. Those high-intensity demanding chefs did right by me. Sermon Over

Today will be snow removal day when it stops. I’m going to try and leave the Wheel horse in the shed and use a shovel for some exercise...inspired by Tommy boy

I love to cook. My wife and I take turns cooking. I don't bake that's her speciality and she leaves the grilling to me. For a year and a half when when I was off with a work injury I did 95% of the cooking. 

My son is the same way. We're both good cooks.

I thought that too Scott, but it’s a little heavier than what I can shovel effectively.
So I was going to fire up the machine, but then son #3 called. He is off work today and out clearing snow with son #2’s atv with plow. He will be here later and plow me out.

Man, when they all lived here, it was difficult to motivate them without the, “You park in my driveway, you will clear the snow or your car will be towed,” talk.

 Now they seem to care more about me. I like it.

I looked at this but i would need to buy a new barrel band and the price was breaking the budget haha
