Good morning GTA! Happy Monday, back to the grind! I woke up at 0330 and started the coffee, then fell back to sleep for another 45 minutes or so. This weekend went by way too fast. I have a job that has a freezer with condensate problems. I read the notes and it seems a few technicians have been chasing the problem from one place to the next for the past 2 months. I’m pretty sure it’s the evaporative pan on top of the machine that needs fixed or replaced this time.

Mornin y'all.   I am persona non grata at the shack at the moment.  The memsahib holds a grudge.  Obviously this "Mother's Day" thing is a big deal with the fems.

I looked it up and apparently there is also a "Father's Day" too!  Who knew?

I observed to the memsahib that no one ever mentions Father's Day around here.

She said that I'm only a step father and that doesn't qualify.

So now we are off to visit every Dollar General store in three counties so the memsahib can stock up on discounted Mother's Day swag.

It seems to me if stepfather is disqualifying for fathers day that her not being your mom or mother of your children should give you an exemption too.

Up and hit the ground running, garden chores done, tractor fuel pump on, work on axle hub to stop the clicking noise, it's probably the spring clip come out of the slot. It has just about drove me crazy running the tractor. Get that done and ditch the backhoe and hook up the bush hog. Trying to stay ahead of the jungle before the monsoons get here.

Not sure what the plan is today...  I should get something done but it's hot out and I really just need a day off.  Saturday was supposed to be that day but things changed.  Sunday was supposed to be that day again but not so much with Mother's Day, MIL and then a daughter and SIL showing up later that day.  It just wasn't relaxing having to be social ALL DAY LONG.  Today I had/have plans to finish up the door on the shop cabinets and making a planter bed but at THIS exact moment I have ZERO desire to start any of it.  It's a quarter to 1000.  Maybe I need another coffee...... 😆

I got up at 0530 and started coffee. I feel better than yesterday, but now that I’m having coffee, I don’t feel too great yet. Not sure if I should go to work, I have a doctor’s appointment early this afternoon.

 I am not sure about my whole day but I am supposed to depart Springfield/Branson (18 miles away) at 4:46 PM and arrive Denver for a 1h 44 minute layover and then in Palm Springs Airport (55 miles from home) at 8:52 PM, so I should be home by 10:30-11:00 PM depending on how quick we get our checked bags.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! Thank you all for your well wishes and especially your prayers. I tested negative for Covid and the flu, doctor put me on an antibiotic for 10 days. I woke up for a couple minutes just about every hour last night but went back to sleep each time. I got up at 0430 and made coffee. I have my Wednesday morning meeting at 0600 and then head on to work.

Monthly run to the big city today. After that I plan to lower the casting bench in the Red Shed to a more pellet pouring friendly level. I tweaked my back a bit yesterday moving a large tomato planter for Betty Lou yesterday. Just a little slow getting round this morning. It'll get better as the day goes on.

I have plans on finishing a project table using scrap lumber and a metal frame with extruded iron mesh.  Also hope the yard dries enough to mow tomorrow- it rained about 2 inches last night into this morning.  I sure there's some little quickie projects floating around, too.

Otherwise, I have the day job to deal with.  I may throw a pork shoulder in the smoker tonight; we're doing a float on the upper James River this weekend and it would be great to have some leftover pork for street tacos when we wrap it up.

Spray the garden for the little green vermin eating everything to the ground, work on the tractor some more-do filter changes, feed zoo, plant more stuff, transplant stuff to bigger containers, finish mowing what I didn't get yesterday. Just enjoying life for minute.

Mornin y'all.  I decided my various orthopedic complaints were too severe to go to work today.  I've nearly fallen several times last night and this morning when my right knee gave out on me.  Something isn't working right in there.  Smarts right sharply too!  Legacy of my misspent youth.
Got to find my dang knee brace now.  Light duty for me for a while I think.

Just got back from our monthly bulk grocery run to the big city. We left out at around 8:30 this morning.
Carried $300 in groceries in the house and my back is toast from the whole fiasco. I'm not sure what i did to it yesterday but it sure is tweaked. I'll most likely spend the rest of the day in the recliner on a heating pad.

Thanks John... I know I'll be fine in a day or so.. I just lifted or twisted wrong. It don't even hurt if I just sit still. The ride to the city and back wasn't bad but that long walk around Walmart and packing the goods and in and out of the truck was a killer.
Like I said, I'll just chill for the rest of the day and be good as new by tomorrow. I just need to get Betty Lou not to try doing things. She's stubborn and if I don't watch she'll be laid up as well.

I should have known...
She waited until I wasn't looking and under the guise of going to her hot house, she wiggled the dog food out of the back of the truck and onto her wheeler. The she drove around to the ramp and eased it off then drug it into the screen room where we keep it in a large tote. She told me what she did after it was done.
At least she did it smart.

I use the bucket on the tractor to shove all the groceries in the house at one time, 400lbs of animal feed is a pain to tote to the house. I now have chicken feeders so I just load them from the van instead of lugging 50lbs of feed all over the place. The dogs are the same way, food goes into the feeders.
