Up a 4 a.m., usual morning drugs, feed chickens, all that important household stuff. Cleaning out the shop to get new power tools set up. It's raining so it's a good day for that project. Hopefully the rain will clear this afternoon so I can move ground blinds to a new location.

Happy to hear that you are going to get the shop set up!!!  I have really been enjoying mine lately.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0400 CST exactly. 
After a fried egg, a piece of toast,  and sausage links I'm going to sit back and enjoy browsing around GTA while enjoying a delicious pot of fresh brewed coffee.
Currently 51° and a lovely 100% humidity.  It will be mostly cloudy all day and will reach a high of 61° with winds E @ 5 mph.
Very high humidity all day.
Plans:...... to be determined.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0430 CST. Having coffee, let the dogs out and have some figuring to do for how I want to attack this Saturday for all it’s worth. I got home about 1330 yesterday and got to shoot a lot. Started with the Parrus at the prairie dog popper at 30 meters and a 4” spot at 40 meters, refining my sights on them, while I waited for the mail and the girls to get off the bus. The mail lady handed me a small package that had my UTG/Leapers rear sub-compact sight in it and I mounted it on the Octane Elite as soon as the girls got in the house. I really like the looks of it, but it’s as low as it’ll go and as far left as it’ll go. It’s shooting center, but still too high. It’s supposed to be cold today and I need to straighten up the garage for when my buddy comes over tomorrow to shoot after Ch**ch. You know it’s going to be hard not to mess with the Octane Elite just a little to see if I can do something to get it at least close to on target. I may just go ahead & zero it for 50 meters. At least for now.

Mmmm, closet door project continues today.

Running in this .22 barrel has been interesting. I have only shot CPHP 14.3 and Hobby 11.35 wadcutters.

Early on, before I hit the 400 pellet mark, I notice that these two pellets had nearly the same poi. Some time after that the true poi start to show. Now there is about ten clicks vertical and horizontal difference between the two.

Accuracy is getting better as expected, though I am still not consistent enough in my hold. The goal is to shoot the HW95 as accurately as my HW30.
I feel it that the 22 barrel is more consistent than the 177 the gun originally came with.

FedEx should bring me more pellets today. A couple sizes of FTT, Falcons, and JSB. Hopefully in the coming weeks I will get some longer range shooting in to see what I get.

Double shift at work today (0700-2300). 

The only plans I have are to keep my self occupied/entertained while I am on stand-by.  So I’ll be surfing 🏄, eating 🍽, reading 📖, and work 🔧 as needed. 

I’ll be dreaming of shooting my new HW30S .22 cal that arrived just before I came in to work yesterday.  I was able to squeeze 5 or so shots from it at a tin can.  I LOVE IT!

I love the sound 🔈 it makes when that FAT chunk of lead smacks that tin can 🛢 and sends it tumbling! 

Funny thing is, is that we have 2 HW30S in .177 cal.  Great little gun but it is a lower powered air rifle and I sense that when shooting them.  With the same energy hitting those cans with the lowe velocity .22 cal pellet and larger surface area, it makes the lowly 30 sound like a POWERHOUSE!  It’s Awesome 😎!  Why did I wait so long to try this?  I’m such a knucklehead.  Ha ha!

What do you use to make coyote bait? They'll eat anything dead so if you have a ice chest and a pair of gloves in your ride where you come across a road kill you can toss it in the chest and take it home. I've used hog guts in the past whenever I killed one but now that I have coyote calls to use from a hunter app on my phone along with a bluetooth speaker I'll just use that speaker to draw them in. Way cheaper than using a critter caller and is just as loud if you have a good speaker. I've thought about using the hunting app on my phone connected via bluetooth in my car to use it's speakers which would be crazy loud deep bass hog calls to bring them in from long range.

I used to!  Ha ha!  The boys probably have it in one of their forts that they built.  I have some steel plates too.  Those ring pretty good.  I’ll have to try the 30 out on it.

I use cheap dry dog food, the greasier the better, canned makeral, it's cheap at dollar general or dollar tree, freezer burned meat, and salt to keep it from rotting quickly. As for road kills, not many to pick up around here, they are eaten immediately or turned into road pizzas before 9 a.m. I use to work for FDOT as a road pizza scraper, I'm not to keen on picking up road kills. As for calls, I use the Cass Creek Nomad. I have 3 sound units and the remote so I have 3 different locations to call from.

Good morning GTA! Second day in a row that I woke up at 0400 CST exactly. It's currently 52° and will warm up to 67° or so by 1400 CST. Only thing concerning me is the wind and a chance for rain.

 I still plan on trying those AA Falcon pellets in the HW50.  Another Thanks goes to SteveP-52 for sending them to me to try.

Morning Tom. The new Covid cases are still real high around my area. We've had Zoom Bible fellowship classes since around June of last year. We stream our worship servive also. We've had friends our age die from this virus and other affected for months. We've sheltered in place since June 2020 and will remain to untill the numbers began to drastically drop.

It seems the doctor's don't know why some people without any underlying health issues die from this. So we've been very cautious.  One lady my wife worked with died and many others have suffered some long term problems.

I have friends who won't wear a mask, actually joke about it and haven't altered their lifestyle in any way and didn't catch it.

It's a gamble I'm not ready to throw the dice on.

Thursday my wife and I are scheduled for the first injection of the vaccine.
