What are these "snow tires" you speak of?

Bill, these are what I have. 
Bridgestone Blizzak WS-90's
They are a big improvement over standard tires on Snow & Ice covered roads.

Morning... Its kinda strange to say that as this is now really early for me to be up and about. Got up early took the big monster to school then back home. Tried to lay down but that didnt work so up and got around. Now waiting on Jeff to show up we will go have lunch.

  Well There is a toddler and baby here in the house again, they came in late, so for the next two days there will be a bit of crying an yelling going on here from the 2 and under club. My granddaughter's phone was stolen last week when they were shoe shopping and then somehow her husbands phone got broken at Disneyland (I haven't heard that story yet, so I don't know how his got broken).
 Her new phone was supposed to have arrived here by last night but hasn't yet. They leave for Idaho on the 3rd so I imagine he will wait until he gets home to replace his?


  I am way overdue for a haircut now but will wait until I'm not sick to go to the Barber Shop.

Yes,  we're up.  I'm going back to the hospital at 1:00 for another Mg infusion. I had an infusion last Wednesday that brought my Mg up to 2.2 which is excellent. Lab test yesterday said it was back down to 0.8 which is LOW. 

No one knows what is causing this.  I know it is getting very old!

Mornin ya'll  Up with the pups this a.m.  We gots us a busy day ahead!  First thing is a about thirty to forty five minute work out with the tennis ball for Belle.  I will use the tennis ball thrower.  Belle will run about five miles.  Hopefully that will wear her out and she will sleep all afternoon.  Then the memsahib and I are headed for T town.  First stop will be Taqueria Chili chili's  for lunch, then bank, shopping, etc.  Hopefully we'll get finished and I'll still have enough daylight to visit my squirrel hunting spot.

Could it be a side affect of one of your meds? I'm not talking about the side affects already listed but something that just a few of the people that they did testing on to approve the drug for general use. I know that lasics is a potassium wasting drug but that's not magnesium.

I know GERD meds Nexium, Dexilant, Prilosec, Zegerid, Prevacid, Protonix, AcipHex and Vimovo are known to deplete magnesium or interfere with absorption of it.

Happy first day of December!

Yes I’m up.  Just ate and now I’m having a cappuccino.  Taking Mrs P to the eye doc this morning.  Gonna play pool at pops later the head into work after that.  Not much time to plan or accomplish much else. 

It’s been pretty cold here for the past few days.  Now it cold and breezy.  The air smells like snow/winter.  I think the snow level is dropping to around 2000’ this weekend. 

We are lowlanders so snow tires aren’t really a necessity for us.  I just replaced the tires on the Sienna here a few weeks ago.  The Michelins that were on it were junk.  I’d never recommend that particular tire.  Michelin makes some good tires but not all are equal in their line.  After doing some research online and asking some auto buff gurus I know I decided to give Falken brand tires a try.  Noticeable improvement!  Quieter ride, smoother acceleration and better cornering.  I think they have a 60,000 mile wear rating.  They are a touring tire 🛞.  They were also in top 3-5 in many ratings I looked at but another thing about them I liked was $50 less per tire.  That’s a $200 savings.  The real seller for me was the wet/dry stopping distance tests.  They had better (shorter) stopping distance than the tires with higher ratings in both wet and dry conditions.  All of that combined was a winner for me.  Time and experience will really tell but as for now I’m very pleased with my purchase.  And yes, good brakes and tires make a world of difference in how a car handles.

I take protonix which I know messes with bone density and liver function if taken for more than 3 years.

Brett I bet my life on Michelin's three times and am still here to post online but in fairness that was their top of the line ultra performance summer tire that's lucky to last 25k miles. First time was a high speed corner taken on a tire that unknown to me was wore down to steel on the inner tread yet it didn't pop and crash me. 2nd time was driving on another set that unknown to me wore down to the steel inside again and on the way to the tire store 20 miles away developed a bubble and started hissing yet I made it to the store with maybe 15psi in it. They're expensive but top of the line grip which is vital in a sports car and also saved my life a 3rd time in heavy rain when I hydroplaned in a unseen puddle which turned my car 90 degrees sideways to the left at 70mph then 180 degrees to the right before the tires finally gripped turning me 90 degrees left to straight in the lane again. Dude beside me in a pickup must have been tripping out that I was able to recover knowing most cars would've been in the ditch. The near $300 per tire expense is worth it. Cheaper than being in the hospital or dead.

When I lived there in AR it was in the mountains and people couldn't even leave their driveways without sliding off into the ditch when it snowed. Was beautiful country but glad not to be in it now too though. I'm in hill country which is easier in the snow.

Well, after a two dram/two hour Mg infusion, my Mg level came up to a marginally acceptable 1.6 level.  I got a new prescription of Lomotil to go with the Lasix and other meds that I take. Sooner or later,  we'll get the right combination of meds to right this suspected diuretic caused condition.  I hope it's sooner rather than later. I may not have a whole lot of later left.

Sooner or later,  we'll get the right combination of meds to right this suspected diarrhea caused condition.  I hope it's sooner rather than later. I may not have a whole lot of later left.

Greg, I don't know if I'm reading this right but the lasix not only causes low potassium but low magnesium? Not sure but here's what I read.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I woke up at 0300 and couldn’t go back to sleep, so I got up at 0315 and turned on the coffee. Today I’m meeting with a few guys from Church for an early lunch and a 1240 hrs showing of Napoleon in the iMax theater. It’s supposed to be a tad warmer with calm winds today. So I’m planning on shooting my 362 Anniversary Edition as soon as the sun comes up. I’m going to sight her in at 20 meters and see how she does. It’s only off a little bit, about an inch and a half low and right, from the 9 pellets I’ve put through her so far. Today’s going to be a good day.
