Gotta love CraigsList, sometimes

Well, I just spent two days trying to contact a fellow who was selling his Dad's lightly used Titan GP. First, he forgets to put any contact info for CL, so when I click on it, I get a message saying they were emailing him a reminder. Checked back throughout the day but still nothing. Then I look closely at the ad and, sure enough, he included his email down in the body. So I shoot him a quick "Is it still available and for how much?" (price also missing from the ad). He comes back with "Yes, how much you wanna give for it?" This being the next danged day, I say, "Well, I'm kind of on the fence about one of those." He replies that he's looking for "abou $70". I say, "For that price, I'd like to take a look. When's a good time?" Get the next email, "I'll let you know tomorrow". "Tomorrow" was yesterday. I see the ad is pulled. Email and ask, once again, "Is it available? Hey, I'm waiting here for a time to come by." Yep, it's sold BUT he does have a way cool CO2 ("gas gun") POS pistol.
OK, I know, for that price, I coulda jumped on it. But, with CL, sometimes "lightly used" equates to "lightly used as a jack handle" or "lightly used as a fence post", etc. Now, were it me selling the gun and I told a potential buyer I would give them a time, then had an "I'll buy it" offer, I would give the first person right of first refusal. But it obviously wasn't. Good thing is I didn't waste any gas or put off buying something else.
Now, is it me or should you reply to emails when you list like this? I also emailed about something else, right here close to where I live, and the guy wanting to sell it asap, but got zip response. At least repost the ad "Sold".

C'mon...it's Craig's List for g-sakes, 1/2 the folks on there are selling their junk (literally) to buy new "hemp plants" for their cash crop, and the other 1/2 are smokin the cash crop.
That barrel slapped, dry-fired rifle would have been a money-pit anyway.

if they know how to properly handle and shoot it. (not dry fired, correct pellets etc.) they would "likely" know what its worth.

It was his Daddy's gun. Poor old Pop is going back to the old country, LOL, so sonny boy is selling stuff for him. As to who's smoking what, I, sir, have sold things on CL and I do not indulge in the five leaved wonder weed.
Yes, buying a used air gun on CraigsList is a gamble, unlike the various air gun classifieds. Like I haven't been taken on one of those, LOL! (Sear fails on third shot - "Well, it always seemed like a target trigger to me.")

I saw an ad on the local Craigs List a couple of weeks ago : "FOR SALE 2 Daisy Air Guns..$15 each or both for $25". I shoot off an email asking if they were still for sale. I did get a reply that they were and if I took both, he had a pistol that he'd "throw in". I got back to him asking what model air guns they were...his reply..(quote).."They're the models that shoots BBs or them other things" unquote. I assume he meant they shot pellets too. He had no photos or model numbers available. He had no idea what I was asking for. I emailed back telling him that Daisys weren't what I was looking for right now, but thanks. You think I may have passed up the bargain of the century?
