I would first like to thank Bob, aka rsterne here on the GTA for his help with this project. When he first posted his RWS 850 Custom, "http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php/topic,16616.20.html", I just had to see what that project was all about...

Both Lloyd SS and Bob have got me all motivated with HPA/PCP innovations and ideas. Thanks Bob and Lloyd for the great contributions you make in The Dark Side...

OK I pretty much followed links on modding the RWS 850 on the 850 Forum. Bob held my hand and was very patient with me and my questions...

I started by reading all the 850 forums research index "http://www.network54.com/Forum/580259/". If any of you want to do your own HPA mod on an RWS 850 I suggest you start there.

Of course I had to add my own personal mods with aluminum butt insert, bottom grip plate, shroud with pickle plus the paint and other small touches..

This was a fun project and can be very inexpensive if you look around for the parts you will need. I did balance out the the rifle by adding a small bag of rice and expanding foam in the butt end of stock.This was necessary due to the 22 ci aluminum 3000 psi tank.

I mounted a Hawk scope which I purchased from Richard at Airscopes.com. It is a very nice Airmax EV 4-12x50 AO Map 6 Mil Dot. The shroud I made from aluminum tube stock along with the hexagon shaped pickle. The red paint was Krylon Fusion Red paint for plastic.

I chronied the RWS 850 after I was finished testing for leaks. Here are the numbers. I am still waiting on a new hammer spring I ordered from Umarex that was used in the Dominator. According to Bob this should boost my FPS some. But I sat down this morning with everything ready to test. A couple hours later I was still shooting across the chrony...

I finally stopped at shot 129. I looked at the gauge and still had about 1100-1200 psi left, but my hand was starting to ache from the arthritis pain...

The numbers are not quite what I was looking for but hopefully the new Dominator hammer spring will help.

I will post a graph on the shot count but I need to find out if Bob or Lloyd would want to share there Excel worksheet wiff me..

Here are some pictures and I will hopefully post numbers string later. It was pretty much 860 -870 thoughout the 129 shots with CHP 7.9 from cardboard box.

Nicely done.... If you are interested in what happened when I went from the stock hammer spring to the Dominator one.... check out this....

The black line was with the HiFlow valve and a stock hammer spring.... the light blue line was the exact same gun with just the heavy hammer spring.... The dark blue line was the extra from the ported barrel....

That looks really good.
Would definitely turn some heads at a target match.
The shroud and brake are very clean and well executed.
I would be interested in a thread about how you built/conceived such an innovative design.

Great work as always Mr. Gene! I really like the looks of those 850's but yours is in a class by itself. By all accounts those are good shooters with CO2, I bet one running on HPA is extra sweet.

That's one awesome and innovative shooter. If Lucille Ball (redhead) is as accurate as she is sweet looking, I WOULD NOT TOUCH the hammer spring. With a shot count like that?

? MAN, could you ask for more from a gun???
She got the looks and charm. If she can cook and clean (accuracy) then she is a definite keeper!!!!
NICE airgun eye candy. How much??? LOL
May have to go dig up another coffee can in da back yard.

Here is a 27 shot string. Looks like about 13.5 FPE.. Will be getting to the accuracy testing as soon as I install the new hammer spring.

You should be able to squeak out a few more fps, my .22 is shooting cp's at 905 fps ,and some jsb monsters over 30 foot pounds

That is what I am hoping for Phil. I would love it to be shooting around 900 fps with 10.5 Crosman Premiers. Just waiting on hammer spring now.
