These are the groups I ran today. Sorry, I am waiting on a new print head from China, so can't use my scanner or print targets.

got up to 863 fps at 2300, but groups opened up. not working around 850 FPS at 2100 psi. need to clean my barrel again as groups are still not happy, but consistent. need the winds to die off, so i thinks that's it for today, as i'm just chasing things now. tried to do a group with my bipod on, but that went south real quick. POI/POA shifted up 2 mil dots. so that isn't good.
I'm sure i could get more speed, but i'd have to drop the factory spring back into it. but then adjustability goes out the window. need to try to find a touch heavier spring in the 24-26# range. Currently running a 22#.

I tried these slugs at .248 today. The groups didn't fair any worse than the .249's. Maybe slightly at 1" to 2". I shot some MKIIs right after with same tune. The NOE's are at 907 FPS and the MKIIs are at 940 fps. So, I may have some blow-by, same as you. Those MKIIs at 940 were super accurate in the few groups I ran. My target is too shot up to post and make sense of to anyone else.

i rechecked my sight in against the small test run i did last night. Got close to where chairgun claimed my 68 yds should be. mind you i was shooting at a known 66 yard target. hits looked good, then decided to take a walk in the woods. Seen one red squirrel (first one in a long time). had an opportunity at 2 chipmunks, about 30 yards shots, and one was through a small opening in the branches.. LOL, they didn't fare too well against the 37 grain slug. their insides became outsides.
oh i also got my new 1/2"-m20 adapter. fit really well. No issues with taking it on and off, or having to worry about clipping. Now i think i wanna try to get a touch bigger can made up. currently got a 1-1/8" x 6-1/2". somewhere around 1-1/2" x 5" maybe even use carbon tube.

ty. i'm happy thus far. just trying to get them dialed in. easy to do when you make changes and can make more easily. versus buying and trying them, then having to order more.
Oh and to top things off..I found that my calipers are .003" off on measurements. so that didn't help matters any. time for a new pair, as the tolerances we deal with need to be very precise.

think i'm just gonna cast at where I'm at now. accuracy seems good. granted slugs are more for long range...but i just did a 1" group with multiple hole in hole at 28 yds. That is certainly hunt worthy in my book.

One of my kids got me this Fowler Mic back in 2015... does the job...

I know that molds can be lapped to increase size but have only knew one person who had done it and that was with a larger caliber... I know it is sometimes done with steel molds that are a bit pitted...sounds easy to ruin a mold also...

I am going to try the other pins to see what happens. I'm also going to mess around with the temps a bit more as well. My last cast was focused on how heavy I could get them for best fill out. I did try some groups unisized, and want to say those were some of the tightest groupings so far, but with more flyers, too.

I have the new NOE Lee mold guide set up now. I feel I will definitely be more consistent, I do believe, with the pours going forward. I can even pressure pour still the way I have it set.

I am also softening up my lead more by adding in pure lead as I go. I started with 2.5% tin, but have added in junk pellets to the mix to bring up the antimony/hardness. I'll keep adding in just pure lead as I go to see if that helps or hurts.

Ty keith. I'll have to give that a shot. The lapping part. I think I got it set now. Just need to get a nice polish on the cavities now. Wanna try to get them as slick and shinny from the mold as possible. it's really close now. Did see some strange marks after last night's cast session so got to polish it up.

I compared my unsized slugs to some FX hybrid slugs that are showing to be 0.250" I figure that's the size I am shooting for (pun) being these are made for the Superior liner, based on the hype at least. My slugs are coming up a little short at 0.2485".

I found a little trick to bump the O.D. up a bit using a certain type of specialty nail. I now have some samples of these sized all the way up to 0.251" with clear weather ahead, too.

I haven't tried the FX hybrids or the other various brand slugs I have yet. All in time though. I want to get these slugs doing as best I can, too.

nice. It appears i finally got my mold running good, and the way i want it to. I was getting a weird pattern on the side of the slug closest to my handles. did a small run last night and still seen it. polished it a bit more and smoke the mold cavities, and did another run. No more goofy pattern. so all appears to be good now. they are looking good, now to see if they shoot much different.
Got to go get a new set of calipers to retake measurements.
Also got my label stuff, so i made some up for both my molds, to put on my pellet tins.

Kool. I didn't find a magic pill from the tests done today with the different sizes. Still 1"-2" with some trying to stack. I did also test some FX Hybrids finally. At 1,030 FPS they are grouping tight at 3/4" out at 52 yards.

i just scored an order for a 4-20 lee pot in 110 volt finally. Now i should be able to really get some good casting in. LOL. was gonna get the NOE sizer, but it's currently out of stock. New micrometers should be here tomorrow. Had to re-sight in today. something shifted. seems to be good for now. this current supply and demand situation is nuts.
Been thinking of getting a Airforce Condor in .25 to use as a dedicated slug gun. Like the LW barrel idea, but the choke issue scares me abit. But if all else fails i could rebarrel without choke in it, but then looking at specs for the barrel it seems my .249"s may not work to well it factory form given the .254" groove. So many options....
I just feel i may be pushing and asking too much from the gauntlet.

Congrats on the Pro 4-20. I think you'll like it more.

I haven't done anymore testing lately. I am waiting on a pilot bit. I am going to attempt creating a hollow base to see what happens. My hope is to get the base to expand on the initial blast. I got too much blow by happening, at least in my thoughts. I also have the two other pins installed on the mold. I'm waiting on better weather to cast them. I have no idea if they'll do better or worse, but there's only one way to find out.

I'm gonna run a small batch to see if I got the goofy marks out of mine and send a few out for a powder coat skin and see what they do. This far with all the work I've done, I'm happy with what I got currently. I was stacking them pretty decent my at 43 yards. Gonna poi/poa test a few groups tomorrow and see what is what. Then do a few size checks with my new calipers. I hadn't thought of hollowing out a base to get better sealing. That could be an interesting way to shave some weight off.

I'd be watching Midway. They seem to have the best price, but is out of stock and showing overdue on shipping.

So... Got a little bored today and high winds. So I decided to try the slugs with where the gauntlet is currently at for pellets. New scope is a few days out yet. I did square up my shroud, customs fit an aluminum air stripper I got from rocker1, and took off my custom barrel band. Man did this thing improve greatly now. It'll stack of I do my part.
So with the slugs at my 43 yard target I was a mil dot low from where my pellets hit. 43 yards is my first half mil dot from my center cross hairs. But given the extra 10 grains that's no surprise. What was surprising was they were stacking and just a hair to the right. And it was consistent through several mags and air refill. Hmmmm...... So next I pulled the chronograph out. Pellets are in the 850 fps. Slugs are at 719 fps. Only had a few that went off target. But I was amazed at how well they just grouped at such a low speed. Gonna try to adjust scope up a touch so that they better line up with my Milford and then try to print some on paper. May even turn up just a touch to get them into the 45 fpe range.

Sounds like you are making some progress with these slugs. Today I took apart my Impact and made some changes to the valve and hammer systems. I only took five shots afterwards to settle the reg at max settings with these slugs (lubed). The slugs were hitting the 52 yard rubber mulch backstop with a significant pop. Too dark to chrono, but can't wait to see the numbers. Could be good or bad.

I also cleaned the Superior liner with my new PatchWorm kit and some Ballistol. I couldn't believe how much came out. I still think I need to be at .248, maybe .249 just based on pushing some thru.
