XS25 Scope Stop Issue

About a week ago I mounted a one piece mount and scope, since then I put about 150 rounds through the pipe and it was shooting one ragged hole at 10m rested. (extremely happy with the consistency and accuracy) During yesterdays session I heard something hit the table right after the shot cycle, turns out it was the scope stop and half of the mounting screw. It appears the screw was sheared clean with mounting hole. Upon inspection everything was tight and I was physically unable to move the mount. Follow-up shots were about 1/2 inch high and right so obviously the scope moved.

I reached out to MM and he said he'll send me a factory replacement, awesome guy! In the meanwhile I'm still trying to figure out how to extract the remaining screw. I tried using 5/64 drill bit back the screw out but it didn't budge, so I tried drilling a hole for extraction but the screw starts to thread further down the hole. I assume the hole is open-ended so I don't want to continue in fear it will drop down inside the rifle.

Any suggestions? I'm all ears.

They do make left hand twist drill bits.

Try McMaster Carr...always a good source for unusual fasteners and tools.

I recently bought a Hatsan .25 1000X for the $100 sale they had, the scope that came with it is pretty much worthless and I can actually do good with the gun with open sights so that's where I'm at with it now.  I'd get the darned thing sighted in good and soon after it would shake the scope loose again.  I admit it's the scope that came with the gun and isn't worth the money it cost to make the thing.
