TalonP Carbine .25 With Butt Stock and Moderator. I just saw this advertised on their site.
It fits my hunting needs .
Light
Quiet
Short
Able to get 75 yards pretty easy with pellets or slugs.

Tell me I’m outta my mind lol.

I have a plain old talon p. Not a collector of super premium airguns, so my endorsement might be one for the “nays” depending on how you value the opinion of a newb who hand pumps his one pcp airgun.

I find it to be very accurate, very easy to disassemble and clean and maintain, minimalist mechanisms not buried in complex contraptions, easy to modify. Can be converted into a rifle with just the cost of a barrel…

I'm not one to ask about AF guns- I'm partial to them... Easy to work on, simple, rugged, powerful... You saw one for sale with a moderator on who's website? They don't normally come with moderators, and you WILL need one...

If you're looking to buy, you can't go wrong with:

- DonnyFL LDC end cap
- Whatever LDC you wish, but make sure it's rated for 50 fpe or more... This thing is LOUD. I've had Neil Clagues, DonnyFL's... You definitely will want a easily removable LDC, because you definitely don't want to lose the packability of the TalonP...

That's it. That's all you need. Shoot it, enjoy it. Actually- the only other thing I would do is remove the silly automatic safety.

You should also seriously consider the Talon Tunes tank adapter because the Talon guns can be a bit odd for ergonomics!!! Maybe the TalonP has a smaller diameter tank? If so that will help some.

YEMX is 100% correct. The auto safety is a hassle.

Those tank adapters are REALLY nice, and are very helpful getting the gun to fit right... That being said however, definitely shoot the gun "as is" for a little bit. Personally, with the smaller tank the TalonP fits better than a standard Talon or Condor. The adapter does add to the overall LOP- not much mind you- but it does make it longer. Just something to consider. I'm not knocking the tank adapter- I used to run one on a Condor many moons ago. I loved it.

That added length, in my case an Altaros regulator AND tank adapter, actually worked out good. I moved the shoulder rest forward to compensate for added length now the end of the tank rests nicely on my shoulder. I added foam pipe wrap to end of the tank and now can use medium scope mounts.

Having a tank adapter AND regulator seemed a little gangly but fits me quite well.

That's the one I figured you were talking about- just wanted to be sure... Ask around about that shortened AF LDC- and see if anyone's compared it to a DonnyFL or a Neil Clague. Not at all saying it doesn't work well- just suggesting to look at all the options before deciding.

I was interested in that one too, a while back because of the adjustable butt-plate.

I really wish he would make thread-on LDC's. They're ridiculously quiet for their size and well made- but I like being able to remove the LDC with no tools for transport... If the added length doesn't bother you, no biggie.

ill add the negatives..
you need an ldc , after adapter thats almost 200 bux..
without the drop down ,the tank is too high as a cheeck weld.
its single shot , all other pcps in this price range are multishot and generally shrouded.

For whatever reason, I always thought the TalonP fit me better. It's not that much of a difference, but the smaller dia. of the TalonP tank is apparently enough to be comfortable...

I've got one with an R&L shroud just for dispatching trapped game. It's fine for what I use it for and with the shroud it's fairly quiet. Others say how accurate they are but compared to my Sumatra there's no comparison. I hunt with the Sumatra and take the TalonP when I'm checking traps. I pulled the scope off of it so it would have a smaller profile in the truck. A lot of people love em, mine has one purpose and that's all it's used for. I'll be replacing it this year, so you'll see it for sale soon.

I think that elbow is probably the best buy for Airforce guns just for the ability to lower the scope.

Carbine would be the way I'd go.

Likely hardly ever shoot it as a pistol-pistol, ussually shoot from a bench or bi-pod with a "pretend"butt stock....may as well have a real one.

Which wouldn't stop you from shooting it like a pistol...just ignor the butt stock,doesn't add all that much weight to it.

One of the reasons I bought the Escape UL vs. the Condor or Talon, was that the bottle while giving less shots than the bigger bottle AF guns, was the cheek weld was just right.
When adding a regulator and adapter, the Air Venturi bottle but stock, I think it was for the Sig gun but fits the bottle for a perfect LOP.
I gained more shots by adding a Carbon fiber bottle and regulator to mine after happily shooting it basically stock - .22 slug barrel, still have factory .25 for when such a desire arises,for years.
