First Blood for Rapid

Been out of town for over a week so I started putting PB on the station yesterday and something (s) gobbled it all up last night so up went the doorbell cam tonight and sure enough I started getting push notifications about 8:30 and the video showed a rattus so I loaded the Rapid with a 18gr sleeping pill and waited. At 8:50 my phone chimed so I grabbed the Rapid and set her in the y-yoke and saw the rattus crouching over the PB so I turned on the IR, placed the illuminated dot on its forehead, flicked the safety off and slowly pulled the 8oz trigger till it sent the pill...thwack...the rattus crumbled onto the platform, a 14” male. The Rapid did not disappoint. Well...as I was typing this my phone chimed again...yup, another one! Loaded the Rapid went to the window and saw what I thought was a silhouette of one on the platform...then it took off...it was the rattus! I waited peering thru the scope and it returned but was difficult to see until it gave me a broadside shot and I took it aiming at its heart...thwack..dove off the platform onto the grass DRT, a large 15” female that is the darkest I’ve ever encountered and thick, weighing more than the male I shot earlier. No wonder ai had a difficult time seeing her as she blended into the darkness of the wood. A nice double for the night and I just got a push video and there’s a third one!

Andrew! Thank you so much kind sir! I did recently pick one up in .22 with a conventional/reflex moderator and it’s detuned so I can shoot JSB 18gr and NSA 17gr without any shift in POI. Here is a couple of photos for you! It’s the one in my Avatar!

Great shooting Randall!  Your Rapid looks lethal and it proved it with the 2 Rattus.  That's a huge moderator/shroud too.  I bet it's very effective.  What's the Rapid detuned to?

WildCJ, thank you so much! Got it from eBay....XSHCAM, about 35 bucks, it uses 18650 rechargeable batteries and uses WiFi. I have it set up about 2-3 feet from ratttus baiting area, takes a video and sends a push notification to your phone, you can also watch a live feed, has infrared camera.
