I didn't want that kind of power, I have other guns that are alot easier on my physical limitations for that kind of power.
I got exactly what I wanted and for the price I felt good about paying for it. Guess you could say... this gun at this price just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

I went for wood because, for me, a gun needs to be wood and metal. I went for the .25 because I already have .177 and .22. Never shot a .25 break barrel and I have .25 pellets on hand for the Sumatra.

I just found a wood stock, spring version, .25 cal on stock.

Honestly, I think the Striker will perform great in .25, since the larger caliber will give a more relaxed shoot cycle...

You guys are really giving me the itch to order one of these. What's the cocking effort like? Could I swap barrels with my 125? Be nice to have a .25 cal 125 and I guestimate that a .22 cal 1000 would be a pretty good 30-35 yard gun. I like the wood stock. Man I do not need another magnum springer right now but that price is too good to pass up.

Nope, the 125 and 1000X barrels won't swap. Cocking effort is easier than your 125. In .22, depending on pellet weight, should shoot anywhere from 750-780 fps. I never shot anything lighter than the FTT's at 14.66gr out of mine so can't say what anything lighter weight would give you.
My Edge Vortex .22 would easily shoot the quarter sized groups I wanted at the 30 yards I have to play in. Shot those FTT's the best with RWS Superdomes not far behind.

Just took the Crosman Blaze NP off the wall and compared cocking efforts.... the 1KV was easier. I believe the Blaze has the same ram as the Optimus and the like. Roadworthy (Thomas) could confirm that.

No ! i did not... Good catch ! Vortex instead of spring is fine too. I have another Hatsan with Vortex and I like the shot cycle of it.

Btw. One last one... The trigger ? On a scale from 1 to 10 ?

If you'll read up in this thread, we briefly spoke about the trigger. It needs a little work and Steve has shared his experience with doing it. I found the first stage longer than I like and the break a bit mushier. I'll address that when I get to the internals.
If CDT made one I'd be all over it.

CDT actually does with a minor problem. It fits and works as designed but the actuall trigger blade is too short to get your finger on. Find a fix you like for that part and that GRT III trigger will work. Here's the pic of that too short trigger blade once installed. Not my picture but I've done this, wrote about it here a couple years ago and have the GRT III's, then side tracked on figuring out a fix to the too short issue. Trigger shoe maybe? Get someone doing 3D printing to possibly make something??

I just went back and read that whole thread from 2015 with you and Old Corps. I have a Striker 1000s chopped and set in a VMX stock that I did the longer trigger screw in... I just forgot about it. Did the same thing with my Gamo Urban before I bought a CDT trigger for it.... a Silent Cat as well.
The plan is to take the gun down tomorrow for cleaning and lubing.... I do believe a have a couple of those screws here from before. IIRC, they are the Allen head type.

It willing be good for me to shoot these two side by side one of these days. Based upon reading some of your comments on other threads, I’ve already purchased H&N FTT 14.66 and RWS Superdomes 14.5 to start. And the Remington came out great after the couple tweaks I did. But the Edge 1000X, as I dubbed it, is still good for mid-size game. The other two are pig killers.

the edge/1000x is also going to be 3-4 lbs lighter than those other two. power vs. portability for all day hunting

P, what you have is a good start. Air gun barrels are fickle and what one likes, another exact same rifle/caliber may not. Mine liked the FTT's and RWS pellets. Yours may too, so I'd say shoot what you have or have coming first and see how well they work for you. If you haven't already, think about upgrading the scopes as the Optima's as already mentioned are basically only good for low powered pumpers and PCP and tend to fail miserably on spring/gas rammed break barrels.

Thanks! I didn’t even bother mounting the Optima scope. I bought a 3-9x40AO scope from Hammers, as well as a UTG offset mount, mounted backwards to get the scope closer to my face. I have the same problem as you do, as the scope is too far forward if mounted in a regular 1 or 2 piece mount.

So, I replaced the screw with a longer one I had onhand. I actually popped the square cast piece out that the adjustment screw threads into and found a screw that threaded in. I believe it's an m3x10 ? Anyways, I bottomed it in and backed off 1 1/4 turns. Then I slightly bent the leg on the trigger return spring.
Success !!! I now have, what feels like, half the first stage travel, half the pull effort and a nice crisp predictable break.

My gun didn't have any gritty sandy feeling movement to it so I didn't feel the need for any stoning. I did swab some moly paste where I could onto the contact points that I could get to.
That adjustment screw I put in is a stainless, torque/flat blade, rounded head screw. So adjustment, if needed, can be easily made.

Next I'll douche that barrel out.
