Peter, have you ever eaten that stuff that the Walmart deli calls bread? It would have to be a real crisis before I will again. Yuck!
My area's low infection rate will increase dramatically in the next few weeks as spring break revelers continue to congregate shoulder to shoulder in our streets. I'm keeping my head down, having fresh groceries delivered, using an IR lamp to disinfect anything brought into the house, and hoping that the coming bolus of illness is not disruptive enough to necessitate tapping emergency supplies.

I have- maybe I have a better-than-average WalMart?I know they have some bottom-feeder employees, but the one I frequent is pretty solid. Good employees. The type who say, "I know the shelf is empty, so let me see if our new shipment has some 9mm..." Disappears for 2 minutes and comes back with a box of +P+ and a brick of .22LR. Anyway... Yeah. Craziness. I swung by Tractor Supply over the weekend and chatted with a few farmgirls (actually a girl and her mother) and we had a good laugh about preparedness. They were checking out chickens and ducks and I was grabbing birdseed. Funny how people remain friendly as ever in certain places. If anything, it seems everyone I interact with has been courteous and respectful. Almost as if people know something unpleasant is going on so they're modifying behavior to dull the impact of this pandemic. Maybe savoring face-to-face communication?
I'm not even worried. I'll just eat my neighbors when the food runs out.
Robert, I hope your son, his co-worker & his nurse wife are going to be okay. 🤞🏼

A hurricane blew through and we were without power for 2 weeks. No stores. No ATMs. By week one and a half I had traded two cartons of cigarettes for a Mini-14. People will not go without their vices...
