Andy, all PCP gun related questions go to the PCP/HPA Darkside gate unless it's a big bore PCP (separate gate for that), so that's where I have moved your thread to. Welcome to the GTA! HarryThank you, and thank you!
The 1701P has the same hammer spring adjuster and throw adjuster as the 1720T and Prod. Both are adjusted via an Allen wrench through the end cap. The transfer port is fixed, and is smaller than the others. What power are you trying to achieve?
Not sure. Mostly just want to play around, see how many shots I can get with low power, do the same at high power, then find out where in between The gun feels right.
I'm not sure what you can gain by changing PA's. After market CO2 PA's are very much better than the Crosman PA. The Crosman PCP PA is about all a guy would need. Different hammer spring & transfer port sizing is about all that is necessary to adjust shot count or power.I don't know what your goal is, but I'm relatively sure you can accomplish it with the Crosman PA.
Thanks guys! Really appreciate all your input! I apologize for the delayed reply. Just Spent 4 days in Yosemite Park. First time visiting. Didn’t see Bigfoot. So that was a bummer. But got to shoot some New and old airguns while visiting my wife’s aunt an uncle on the way there. So a good trip overall. 😁
