Unsubscribe from a thread?

True... Maybe compile a list of members opinions on the threads in question... Then taking a vote or something to have that thread locked. Then members who wish to continue the discussion could carry it on in a sequel thread? Leaving the members who want out to abstain from future participation..?

Some time ago, the "Modify" button received a modification that put a time limit on how long a member had to change his/her post.  The reason given was that members in the past had become disgruntled about something and decided to leave the Forum.  And before making their final exit, they would go about deleting ALL their posts.  The result was that the missing information changed the thread from which that information was deleted.  In most cases, this was not a good thing.  Hence, the limitation placed on "Modify".
Soooo, Posts are NOT deleted.  Some may be modified at a later date.  To do this, a Moderator/Administrator help is required.
Long story short, Posts will likely not be totally deleted.

There are two ways one which you just did and now when you click on the "show new replies to you posts" or look at the top and bottom of the thread and there is the notify button but that goes to your email.

Go into your profile summary. Notifications. There is a list of threads. Check the ones you want to not be notified, check unnotify. This will remove the thread from your list.

That is for email notifications. What the OP was asking about was unsubscribing from threads, so that when you click on "Show new replies to your posts", those particular threads would not appear on the list, even IF someone has posted in those threads since the last time you read them.

Gotcha. I rarely use that feature, I just cruise the Gates and topics that appeal to me.
