Can I do this to a PROD magazine?  I've never seen an MROD magazine so I don't know if it has already has holes/depressions you placed those magnets into or if you drilled a depression to set the magnets into flush.  The PROD magazine has one center hole that maybe a tiny magnet can fit into, but no holes for the other three magnets.

What size magnets did you use?  Specifically what thickness and diameter?

Here is some 2mm diameter by 1 mm thick that should work,
there are several hundred magnets here , just have to spend some time searching....right ones,
and you'll have enough to share.........LOL.

My question is,
How does a magnet stick to alum action?,
in the video it appears that he has added a very thin "L" shaped bracket (steel),
to where the mags are sticking too.
I think, that is what I am seeing?

I used 3mm x 3mm magnets. I then drilled the three pin holes through and through for the magnets but re-drilled a hole for the spring just by the pellet exit hole. Then I temporarily taped and covered the new holes from the inside with clear tape and super glued the magnets from the outside. After the glue has dried, I peeled off the clear tape on the inside and re-assembled the mag. I slightly flat-sanded the outer surface to get rid of the excess glue and make it all smooth and flush.

And also I put a magnet in the center as well. I had to be careful and quick before the glue dried up with extra finesse without unnecessary errors because the magnets are so small and everything came out fine.

Since I use a magnetic mount for my phone in my car, i just used it’s extra adhesive backed steel The same as what is attached in the back of my phone case and it already comes in black so I just cut it to size and stuck it on the side of the rifle. The adhesive back is super strong and needs to be pried like crazy to take out so be careful to attach it right the first time.

The metal piece was half lengthwise of the original piece. I scored the material on both sides with a box cutter then clamped it in a vice just by the line then snapped it to two pieces.

This is the phone holder, actually works great for my phone too.

The magnet i got was actually 3mm x 1mm but I used three layers/pcs on each hole. Now I don't know if it would be better but definitely more convenient to use 3mm by 3mm pcs or the 3mm x 1mm might be stronger preventing slip out because I glued between the three pieces and while that glue still wet is then glued on the sides of the plastic hole making a more mechanical bond preventing it to slip out. Use the tiniest amount of glue or it will get messy! These magnets are so small! The 3mm x 3mm would be more convenient and maybe it’s good enough and hold on there just as well. Use the long end of a small allen wrench or blunt end of a small drill bit to insert the magnet, this way the polarity are all the same and won’t get the opposite effect of magnetizing.

I am using the versions sold by HF. as they are poled flat to flat rather than edge to edge. Gives stranger holding force. LOL


In on gun, I milled, (plunged a blind hole) the depth of the length of the magnet in the center of the loading port and another one in the bottom of th magazine.


When you start the mag, it snaps it place on its own. Kinda nice.
I can't claim to have thought of this. Saw it in my AirWolf a few years back.


Thinking of adding one each to the mag holder in the Mini Raptor.

That sounds interesting, do you have any pictures or a video on how it works? I'm always up to new ideas I can use or incorporate for future use.
