Looking for advice.
I have a FWB 601 that requires cleaning and tune up. Any idea of where to send her? I live in Washington state. Beautiful shooting rifle.
Thanks
Charlie (KB7PYF)
Now I got her right!!

Living on the west coast Motorhead is probably your best bet. If he can't do it he can tell you who can. (AC7DB)

I believe David Slade works on these also, you could reach out to him.

I just resealed mine, they are really simple to work on and require no specialty tools. Complete seal kits using FWB parts can be found on e bay, Neal Stepp at ISS in Texas probably has them too. If you are uncomfortable with doing it yourself Neal could probably take care of it.

BTW, Scott Pilkington and Dave Slade are both first class guys too.

Hey Mr. Duckfish sorry about being late I just got to read your post and I apologize sincerely. What's going on is when I cock the 601 it's not getting all the pressure that needs which implies to me that there's something wrong with the with the piston so I want it back to shooting form. I bought the rifle secondhand and have shoot ~ 500 rounds before having issues. Beautiful shooting rifle I love it.

If you have access to a chronograph shoot it and report back with velocities. Also cock and load the rifle and let it sit for a few minutes and then shoot over the chrono to see if it is holding air. I will be honest I do not know how long is acceptable for a 601 to hold air after it is cocked. I just assume if it leaks air off pretty fast it’s not acceptable. I also have a 601 and it is a wonderful rifle. Replace the 18mm front sight with a newer 22mm front sight. The 22mm front sight lets a lot more light thru and helps.
As posted above I do not believe these rifles are hard to work on. There is a German guy that has a disassembly and reassembly video on YouTube. Watch it a few times and it will make sense. I also bought mine second hand more than a year ago and though I have not had to replace the seals after watching those videos a handful of times I am not too worried about it.
