UPS delivered the package from RotoMetals today. An hour after the delivery window, but at least it showed up. I opened the door and stood there and he saw me, so he didn't just dump it on the ground. He handed it to me saying, it's a little heavy.

Told RotoMetals this evening that the UPS delivery was successful. They said they filed a claim with USPS for the missing package.

Don't you just love it when the last update on your package was today, 2:30 in the afternoon, 3 states away, and USPS still believes my mail carrier will deliver it to me by 9:00 pm today? Hasn't even hit my regional sorting center, or my local PO yet. Not to mention the local PO loads up the truck first thing in the morning, and rarely delivers after 2:30pm. But somehow these geniuses do manage to get it there most of the time, they just have no clue what route it will take or when it will get there.

So the original shipment of the "lost" USPS package of 45 lbs of lead shows up, unannounced, in the middle of Saturday night. No tracking since Jan 11. No notification of delivery. This morning I see a box on the doorstep. Hmm, what is that?

Now I have to return it, as I don't need another box of lead, 45 lbs is a lot of 0.22 projectiles. So I need to contact RotoMetals and ask what to do. I'm not paying postage to send it back, nor do I want to pay for the lead, as I have enough for quite a while. Wasn't my fault it was delivered late, nor that it wasn't scanned since January 11, 2025, and considered lost. Only way I'd keep the lead is if they cut me a deal, otherwise, I don't really need an extra 45 lbs.

I received a shipping label to return one of the half pigs back to RotoMetals. Tomorrow I have to tape the label on the box and bring the 46 lb box to the post office. Hope they appreciate it. I'll be sure to get a receipt. RotoMetals is paying for the shipping.

So I put the return label on the lead, and put it in the passenger front seat and start driving. I hear this weird chiming, but there's no message on the car console of anything. So I keep on driving. After about 20 seconds, I pull over and check all the doors. They seem to be fine, so I start driving more. The chiming starts again. Dawn breaks over Marblehead, and I think, oh, it's the seat belt alarm. It thinks there's someone sitting in that seat, due to the weight. Start driving again, with the chiming, all the way to the post office. Really annoying.

Brought the lead to the USPS and put it up on the counter. The guy tells me, this is too heavy! I say it is under the weight limit for this package. He weighs it and of course, it's within the limit. Still he sort of scolds me and asks, why is this so heavy. I say it's full of lead. He can't believe it. I told him it was a return, because the shipment was not received in time for me to use. Get my receipt and tell the guy, use two hands, this is heavy. He picks it up and struggles to carry it to the back. As I'm walking out, another guy at the counter says why is it so heavy, is it full of lead? I answer, yes, IT IS FULL OF LEAD.

So because of their screw up, they get to handle the box again. Me, I still have a half pig, which is more than enough to keep me busy.

Utter laziness, and not wanting to get out of the car to do it. Hey, it was cold out. And it's about 5 minutes to the PO. Didn't chime on the way back, because it was gone.

I am stepping into this circle of woes with usps. I order rechargeable batteries from EBL on the bay. Never had any problems with EBL. USPS is the culprit this time. My package was shipped to my physical address. I do not have mail delivered there, it automatically goes to a postal box. This post office has a new postmaster(epic failure right now), new counter person(lost cause), and a new carrier(needs a new job). Most of the time the sorters catch the packages, this time they(the ones mentioned above) didn't and the package was delivered by the new carrier that is not even on my route to the wrong address, worst of all it's was placed by the mail box. I don't run to my p.o. box everyday and check the mail. So now a frantic search is on for the package and 3 people are on my doo doo list. This isn't the first but it will be the last. I have had medical supplies tied up, waited on car parts, and other things as well. Now I have to contact the seller get that ironed and then I am going b!#%& to usps about this moron running the show. Rant over, ya'll have a great day.

Fluster cucks indeed. I'm supposed to be getting several packages today. I'll believe it when I see it. Not the first time they've said out for delivery then the package arrived the next business day which is fantastic when that happens on a Sat and you have to wait until the end of Mon for it to arrive late.

Have had NOTHING.... zero, zip, zilch, nada delivered since before 1/31.. today is 2/10
No packages, no bills, no junk mail, no checks from the wife's art clients etc etc

Called teh 800 number on the USPS website, stepped thru that maze of prompts to eventually give my zip code.... recorded message said they have mail is slow due to low staffing and personnel issues, then it hung up. funny how Fedex and UPS can deliver in that same time frame..... and theyve acknowledged personnel issues too.....

It's probably because the USPS in your area subcontracted a Canadian firm handle your mail, eh.
And because anything crossing the border is subject to a tariff, all mail is now Postage Due.

Hehe no, nothing from Canada. All came from the west coast, except my insurance bill from Michigan..... USPS is hiding behind "bad weather back east" and "the Superbowl", neither of which is valid .....

I was ordering from a company in VA and at the top of the order confirmation it stated if orders shipped USPS to Geogia there maybe a delay in delivery. I will tell you this from experience lately with sure post and smart post it's messed up with USPS. I have had Fedex stuff sit in Georgia a month before being handed off.

I am not ordering anything else until this mess straightens out, if ever. I just got the ebay fiasco ironed out. Need some other things for the van and the parts houses are warning customers of the USPS nightmare that has occurred, they are recommending using the other shipping carriers to get around the garbage. Bill, I agree with ya, Pony Express is looking better than what is out there now.
