Any suggestions to the quality -- is this good enough for regular airgun use? Sounds too good to be true, and adaptor AND adjustable elevation, all in one....!

Things I would have changed: The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the design makes changing elevation tedious. You have to remove the scope to get access to the adjusting screw. Fortunately, you can leave the lower rings on unless you have to cover the screw with the rear ring. The mount does not come with instructions so you have to download them as a .pdf file that is available on the product description page. You have to loosen the screws that attach the mount to the rifle so it's possible to loosen them too far and have the mount shift position (there is not stop pin) when you change elevation. The elevating part of the mount doesn't have to be loose to adjust it, it will move if slightly snug. None of these things prevent me from recommending the mount.
What others should know: DOWNLOAD THE INSTRUCTIONS AND READ THEM! Some of the features of the mount are not obvious. For instance, there is a pin at the front of the mount. It's to be used if your rifle has a flat "ledge" between the receiver and the barrel and acts as a stop pin. If the receiver smoothly transitions to the barrel as mine does, remove the pin, it just pushes out. The elevation screw is NOT a stop pin. Putting it into a stop pin hole will cause it to break. Make sure the elevation screw is contacting the top of the receiver, not dropping into a stop pin hole. The mount is intended to be sighted in at 20 yards. At that distance each complete turn of the elevation screw moves the point of impact 7." Knowing this makes adjusting the mount MUCH easier. Be sure to use the set screw in the end of the mount to lock the elevation screw and press down on the scope before you lock the elevation to make sure it is firmly against the receiver. Most negative comments were from not reading the instructions.”

I'm not sure exactly what information you seek.  I used a Hawke dovetail to Weaver adapter on my T01 Diana 34.  It stays put on the gun really well, which was the idea.  I do not use the elevation function as that particular break barrel has absolutely no droop.  I got the Hawke adapter because the T01 Diana doesn't have a real scope stop hole.

I used it on a custom 2240 carbine build.

It’s a little fiddly to set up but it worked great and allowed me to keep the scope centered optically. 

I would not use it on a springer.


But on a pcp or co2 gun yes  in a heart beat. 

Especially if you intend to shoot at extended ranges.

thanks for chiming in. I was just wondering of the quality of the rail -- will it hold zero, or is it low quality aluminum that will bend when my gun gets bonked a little and then my zero is way off...?

I have four of them on various AG's and they work great. You can dial in elevation compensation to the point that you only need
to make a few "clicks" on the scope, thus keeping the cross hairs near the mechanical / optical center of the tube. As for having to
remove the scope to adjust the elevation, I solved that problem by cutting down the short leg of an appropriate sized Allen wrench
so I could get it under the scope body with out removing the scope. Slightly loosen up the clamp screws, insert the Allen wrench into
the adjustment screw and tweak it. Re-tighten the rail screws and and go test. Easy Peasy! Don't forget to loosen the locking grub screw
before making the adjustments. See below.

A couple of things to note: There are two tiny grub screws at either end of the base and require a small Allen wrench to adjust. There is
a small hole at the front and rear of the base so look closely. The front one holds the stop pin in place. The stop pin can be raised, lowered,
inverted and turned 180 deg. for the flat side to drop down in front of the 11 mm rail - it's to prevent scope creep - if needed. The rear grub
screw locks the elevation adjustment screw in place once everything is zeroed in. As for quality and durability , all mine are on springers
and have been for sevearl years with no problems.

PCP maybe, springer no. I gave it a 1 star. You have to remove your scope and rings, turn a grub screw, put scope/rings back on. Then remove, turn, remount, remove, turn, remount. Grub screw wouldn't stay in place. No instructions. I used mine for a setline sinker.

If I'm looking at the right Hawke product in your table, it says, "Seems too cheap". If you're talking about the price, it IS a great bargain. I'd even go as far as to call the price "cheap". But, if you're talking about the price being an indicator of how tough and reliable the unit is, or if you thought the light weight of the device in ounces pointed to a lack of strength, that's not my experience at all. Please let me elaborate.


I've used at least three of them on springers with some pretty heavy recoil. The majority of this device is made out of aluminum, but, it must be a very tough grade of aircraft aluminum. Once I had the amount of droop I wanted, by adjusting the rear height screw in place, and locking it in with the provided set screw**, I tightened all four of the base Allen headed screws as tight as I could get them. Nothing even tried to strip.
In fact, I've been surprised I haven't seen this product being posted about more often, because I think it's sort of the bargain of the century.


Two of the springers I'm talking about have had that device on top for several years. There's never been a single complaint. The last of the three was installed within the last year. It's also holding very well.
Just note, I think when I bought the first two some years back, they were being sold with a different manufacturer's name on the label--same product, different name. I can't remember what that name was, but I'm 99% sure it was different. The last one I bought did say Hawke on the label.


Anyway, it does add some height to the dovetail. Not an overly-excessive amount in my opinion, but some.  However, I took care of that where needed by using low or medium rings. In other words, the scopes I mounted weren't sitting too-high to be usable when I was done. And, one of them needed a medium mount, anyway, because the adjustable objective on the front of the scope had a large diameter.


So, the note you have written just after those words, "Seems too cheap", leads me to believe that someone has already said this is a good product. I'm saying that I wholeheartedly agree. And, I'm giving it not just one vote, but three. Every single one.

(**Footnote: That one last set screw is the only thing I used any Loctite on, at all. I used a drop of the easily-removable 'blue stuff', just to make sure the screw was going to stay put. The set screw was plenty big enough, don't get me wrong. But, when I have a situation where there's 'a screw, holding a screw, holding a screw', I like to make sure the last one in the chain isn't going anywhere. The Loctite might not even have been needed, but it was some cheap insurance).

Does the elevation  screw adjust against the receiver?

If so can it mar the receiver if there is any movement of the base from recoil?

I recieved the Hawke mount when I installed it the 2 side rails did not contact the center weaver rail it was loose and would flip up from the rear and it had a viable side motion. It did attach to the 11mm dove tail solidly. I could see no way to fix it so it iui s on the way back

I see no value in such a creation for my shooting: all short range.  IE: it offers nothing that existing less expensive options can provide.  I'm sure such a thing is nifty to have, but no thank you.

If I was shooting long distances, I would choose higher end optics and base my choice in optics mounts explicitly for using those guns just for those ranges, and keep other guns for shorter ranges.   IE: if the gun's attached rail did not afford the elevation I need, I would choose a different gun. 


But I'm still absolutely perplexed why the idiot manufacturers like FX still sell the vast majority of their guns with dovetails for mounting a scope, even when they have pic rail mounts on the underside.  It would be simple enough to change the milling process for receivers.  Nothing beats bringing all these wonderful features to market in these awesome platforms and then forcing people to use antiquated mounting system.  To me it is the same as a sports car with amazing suspension that auto-adjusts to telemetry, tuneable-on-the-fly EFI and engine tech,  ceramic/CF braking, all while being stuck with bias ply tires and a cassette player.
