Did you figure out the leak Will?

Patients grasshopper!! I'm definitely not an expert just sharing what I've found with my Liberty. Heck, I haven't even tore into my Aspen/Freedom.

Sounds like you may have got it taken care of. A quarter of a needle could just be temperature related. Or, 4000 psi is enough to seal the poppet. Drop it to 2500 and see if it holds overnight.
Silent SquirrelIf there is ANY air in the balloon, it represents a leak. Sounds like your leak is very, very small. You have to weigh the advantage of fixing it verses just leaving it alone. It might even get better with just shooting it. If the leak gets worse later, you can always tear into it then, and work on the poppet. If it was me & the leak was that small, I would just shoot the gun a while[/b[/color]]. If your hand pumping to fill and you don"t shoot very often that might be diffefent.
Took the leaking wood Liberty to work and took her apart.I spun the poppet under hand pressure for about 10 seconds, on and off to make sure it was nice and smooth and fit will in the brass valve ... It looked good ;- )I then took out the air release screw, and yes there was a place for a small ball detent .. I put about 3 wraps Teflon tape around the screw and put it back in .... and then something strange happened that I did not notice before ... when I screwed it in all the way tight, the screw backed out about a micron of a turn. I re-tightened it and the same thing happened. if the screw backs out a tiny bit this could cause the leaking, also, even with the Teflon tape the threads are a bit on the loose side and this could let air pass on by. I then checked the safety valve and it was screwed in very tight. The only thing I did not do was unscrew the tanks and Teflon the threads on the tanks...if it leaks again I will do that.I will take her home in a few hours and fill it to 3000 psi and see if she holds .... I have my fingers crossed ;-)wll

A ball in there may do the trick by resting against the degassing port at the bottom/side of the hole.Ed
