Well the gun arrived and to say I was extremely pleasantly surprised would be a GROSS understatement ;- )

This thing is just beautiful, not a mark on it and it came with all the accessories. I might add it looks like the iron sight was never even taken off for a scope!

 The gun is on empty, so it may have a leaky "O" ring ... but I will see if it holds air later when I get home.

Well I took the stock off (a very tight fit).

I moved the regulator dial over two dots ccw, I installed three additional .030 thin washers in back of the hammer spring, I then changed positions of the back two trigger screws and made sure the air release screw was tight (it was pretty tight, but that could have been an issue with the other owner).

So far that is it, I will open up the BP if I need to, but I'm hoping I can leave well enough alone.

Tonight we see if she hold air I'm hoping but you never know ?

Got home and tried to fill it ----  ooops, the fill probe is the wrong one ... could have been a problem with the first owner ? Filled her up to 3300 but on reading the gauge it said 3000psi ? ... well at least its holding air ;-  ) Put on the other Discovery 4-16x42 AO and this scope looks like it was made for this gun ;-  )

Shot some rounds to sight her in, she is louder than my other Liberty and these pellets are flying out of there, it took me six shots to sight her in. I will take her to my spot tomorrow for longer range sight in.

I really think the gun may have been returned because of the manometer, but that may need a bit of break in, I don't know, we will see.

Man alive this trigger is just great and it sends 18.13gr out pretty darn quick.

Well as I have reported on another thread Woodstock is passing wind and is down about 1000psi in about 18 hrs.  I will be working on the poppet in a week or so when I receive the Delrin rod and my lathe is back from being reconditioned at Sherline.

Because I so much like these guns, yes another parts gun is on its way ...... If truth be know I hope it is a total non working gun so I can take it apart and learn from it. Even If it is not I will very carefully take it apart and start to find the O rings I will need at a later date, and really see how the  gun works ....... I need to know how this gun functions from one end to the other.---- and yes, it will eventually be a shooter unless it is missing parts :- )

Unlike most PCP guns that have "O" rings In tubes and such, this gun does not have that .... The vast majority of the "O" rings are in the body itself and make for clean removal and very little chance of "O" ring damage when replaced (a great design).

Will, have you checked to make sure the air tube is tight? Mine wasn't and thou that wasn't the source of the 100 psi a day leak it was losing. Make sure the air bleed screw end isn't really ruff. I took mine out, screwed it into a 6mm flange nut where just about .010 to .020 was showing past the nuts surface and taking some very fine grit sand paper and using a figure 8 motion dressed the end of the screw so it would get a better seal without having to really crank on it. Have you done the balloon taped over the end of the barrel yet? That's how I found out what was leaking on my Liberty and just found all of the other stuff along the way to getting to the poppet. Getting to the poppet is so easy that after releasing all of the air I can be to it in less than 30min.

Those are good ideas and I will do that later today ;- ) I actually have some DuPont Molykote 111 and will use that on the threads ... It is a very, very think silicone grease, used so stop leaks.

Yes, they are very easy to work on and well designed IMHO. Once I get the Poppet I will decide on my approach. I have a couple ideas that are a bit off the wall but simple .... I'm very much looking at a Plug and Play approach where you don't need a lathe, or other machine tools to fix this problem ... we will see ;- )

The poppet in my hand will give me the direction I plan on going ;-  )

There are two options that I like but don't know if they are possible, one is very, very simple and the other is a little more labor intensive .... the third is a machining job, that I really don't want to do ;- ) If I can do a fast fix that would last ~ 4 years I would be happy as the fix takes a few minutes and your down the road and back shooting in about 30 minutes !.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing where this goes ;-  )

Has anyone ever made a list of the o rings in the Liberty ?  I've yet to make a list myself, figuring out the size of them all from the available manuals shows them in metric  and I've also noticed mistakes in the one for the Freedom.

This problem needs to be resolved sooner then later because if Nova keeps producing them with this issue, major complaints will really hurt the Nova brand !

I am worried that ATI is not repairing ANY of these AG's.  Freedom or Liberty.

From what I can figure out, they are simply selling off ALL the returns as "parts" guns.

Although, this does give a great deal for some, it worries me because I don't think that business model can continue forever.  (heavy sigh)

And it also makes me wonder if parts will be available in the long run?

Isn't that only happening when they get pushed north of 40 ft.lbs. ? I don't recall reading of one leaking until the reg pressure was cranked way up.

one of the oem valve from my Freedom shows ring imprints from the poppet, i doubt it gets shot a lot or pushed to 40fpe. so its the soft sealing material

Definitely soft, looks like the same material the QB series rifles use on their poppet. I just wasn't aware they were leaking at close to stock reg pressures.
