I am hoping someone will start making that part either in brass or stainless steel. Also, I think the hole that makes it so fragile could probably be drilled a bit smaller and still work as well while making it much less likely to bend/break.

Well all this info has been super helpful. I had a leak in my freedom and so took everything apart very carefully. Definitely had a leaking poppet, but I also wanted to check my check valve. However in putting it back together....WARNING! the gun must be pointed straight up, duh, or the bb will fall out...I went to tighten the valve housing and it got really tight and still had a ways to go....so I loosened it and found my huge mistake!

I've cleaned up the receiver and the valve pump head/body, but the brass valve is destroyed....
Any chance someone has a freedom/aspen parts gun that is truly a parts gun that I can buy a check valve from?

Definitely learned my lesson there!

I have a .22 Freedom in similar shape. However, the fragile nature of that one part is nothing compared to the lack of support and parts after the warranty.

Under warranty, you WILL receive a "new" gun, not your original "repaired" gun.

After warranty, you are totally on your own... (sigh)

Extremely bad business model, imho.

I was very careful in disassembling and hadn't changed or scratched anything....I thought if I could fix the leak I'd be happy, but after what I did I'm pretty sure my warranty is void! Is your check valve damaged too? I'd really like to fix the gun, all I'd need was that nes brass check valve part.....oh well

To be honest, I really don't know. Also, I don't have the tools and know-how to seriously attempt fixing mine any more than I have already tried.

The best I can hope for is someone might start a small business fixing these and doing a good job of it.

Or at least maybe someone will take the entire gun apart and explain it and how to fix it. Right now, all I have seen is how to replace some O-rings and a way to modify it for a bottle.

Get a hold of Duy. He might still have the parts he removed from his Freedom to convert it to a bottle gun.

Thanks . I asked him, but he doesn't have the any more....I called ATI and just bought a non warranty freedom...was cheap...so now I'll have lots of spare parts...including a new idea!!!

How are you guys getting ATI to honor the warranty on the freedom?I have been trading emails with criss neely since april 1st.He has done nothing but stall and repeatedly ask for information already provided and contained in the email thread he is responding to.It appears to me they have decided to screw their customers rather than replace for bad pumps.

Not sure as I got mine through budsgunshop....I know I voided my warranty when damaged mine....so not sure....best bet is to get another non warranty freedom...they still have them... the swap parts and rebuild yours with new orings and good grease and oil(silicone, both). The non warranty freedoms are about 110 including shipping.

Theres many good posts and pics about taking the freedom apart....but when my new non warranty freedom comes I'll try to take lots of pics for each rebuild step. Which there aren't any atm.

What's wrong with yours? I do believe after disassembling and reassembling mine it's not hard to fix unless a piece is broken. Is the pump the problem?

Did you call them and talk to ty or Jennifer ....you might be able to get them to send you a shipping label while on the phone to get it swapped or returned? They r bad at emails....but good on the phone.

However you are not out of the woods yet
It took 2 replacements for me to finally get a working Freedom

As soon as yours arrives please lube the pump with silicon oil, even if it appears to have been done already
I had success lubing every 10 (slow) pumps.
And also developed the routine of shooting no more than 5 shots before pumping again.

Now on a regular basis I shoot 3, and sometimes only 1, and then pump
Lubing before every shooting session has become a way of life.

Anyone reading this, please feel free to offer a different opinion.
Mine is all seat of the pants knowledge
No expert am I
