It was me and "Tater Tot"  driving boats today.  I gotta hand it to that kid.  He looks like a recruiting poster for the boyscouts in his uniform but he is turning into a pretty good river boat pilot.  We traded off steering and working as deckhand.  A squall line with a lot of lightening came through a little after noon so I canceled the 1300 and the 1330 boats.  It was pouring rain and I don't think anyone minded.  I drove four tours and saw plenty of gators, birds, and turtles but I had to work to find manatee.

Got home and the memsahib informed me that the iron maiden is now legally married to her Brazilian husband.  She watched the nuptials in Rio on her laptop.  I have no expectations.  Dealing with my daughter is like being on the receiving end of harrasing artillery fire.  It keeps you keyed up all the time but you still have to keep your head down until all the noise is over. >:

Did some workin’ at work.  We had some weather come through and created quite a bit of trouble for the utility.  Things are on the mend now.  I did my part so you can be proud of me.  I’m home now and getting very sleepy. 🥱

There's nothing that I could have used. I was walking down the bottom of the ditch burning the weeds in side of the ditch. There's a burm on the side that is accessible. I do have other places where I can use the hand truck but not there.

Madd with all those rocks you'd pretty much need a 4x4 Samurai with big tires to not carry by hand. Maybe you could hick rig it as a back pack to not carry by hand?

Today Sonja and I did some online shopping for our quonset hut.  The shower stall is 3x6; coin-tiles for flooring, Palisade Vinyl for the walls, grout, thin-set, silicone, construction adhesive... all for less than a Leshiy Classic 5 years ago.  Hooray for my vet and Pro discounts~~~~

Yesterday Sonja painted while I modified a Habitat-for-Humanity all-wood (no particle board) kitchen cabinet to turn it into a bathroom vanity.  IT is always  good feeling when you dry-fit a cabinet to work around a buncha plumbing connections and everything fits perfectly.  I also cut and fitted the countertop (acacia butcher block) to the kitchen cabinets and made the cuts for the sink and faucet.  Sonja also called and retrieved test results from our water sample so once those are received by the county we >should< get the water connections and finish electrical hookup.  Hopefully, we can move forward with getting our occupancy permit.

My “Uncle” taught me about that stuff.  Fougasse, hedge hoppers, Molotov’s.  I prefer my Panama torch though.

I like the fancy drone but trust me, setting the woods on fire by hand is a huge rush!  Wading into the zone, busting chest high palmetto and brush.  Cutting out a big strip with your drip torch.  Gettin some fire on the ground!  Listening to the fire ripping into the gallberry and saw palmetto.  The smell of burning blueberry.

Or imagine racing over the tree tops at seventy knots hanging out the door of a Vietnam era Huey spewing incendiaries and watching the fire boil up behind you like something out of Apocalypse Now.

Some days there’s isn’t any better job than being a Florida Park Ranger!

But today was my day off so I just did mundane things like hike some of the Florida trail,  take a drive through St.James bay WMA, and visit the beach at Bald Point State Park.  We had dinner on our patio overlooking the Sopchoppy river and watched a great sunset over Tate’s heII State Forest.

Said good bye to the foster puppys.😭 Their going to 2 other foster parents until Saturday when they'll be at PetSmart for adoption.

So far today I have worked a bit in the garden and exercised the dog pack which now includes my mother's dog Bonnie.  We take a tennis ball out to the pasture and the whole bunch chases who ever has the ball.  Sometimes I get to throw it.  After a few minutes the pack will jump in one of the fish ponds and splash around.  Then they will tear off running.  I just sit on my portable stool and supervise.  They do a pretty good job of entertaining themselves.
