I dragged a dozen small trees out of the forest that I felled last spring. I'm trying to clear a trail the tractor can fit down so I can expand our pasture. I'm having to cut down more trees than I at first anticipated, it's like the tractor got eight feet wider since I first marked the trail. I'm trying to avoid all the birch and tamaracks, but it seems they are exactly where my tractor needs to be to navigate the boulders and stumps. Eventually I'll get the stump grinder in there and that will help a lot.

I've experienced so much disinformation in my lifetime that any possibility of that happening at this late stage of the game (impending retirement) is not worth the cost. I have a prescription of 800 mg Ibuprofen @ 90 per month. I only take them when the aches and pains are unbearable to the point I can't sleep because they tend to upset my stomach. I'll work with that until I don't have to worry about screenings anymore.

I was a boat captain today.  I drove four tours and then I took our new boat out solo to get a feel for how she handles.  A little under powered with just me.  We’ll have to see how she does with 30 passengers on board.
It was nice to be out on the river alone.  It was nice to chug along with just steerage way on and not have to interpret every blessed bird, fish, turtle, gator, etc.

Betty Lou and I both have doctor's appointments this afternoon for our 6 month check ups and prescription renewals. We'll get the full work ups and discus any changed needed.

I'll need to be sure to let them know that I've been out of my bp meds  for nearly a week so they don't up the dosage. The meds have gradually escaped my system. It will most likely take a few days to get things back to normal.
BP was 177 over 86 this morning before any coffee or nicotine. I can hear the ringing in my ears getting louder.

We have a raccoon at the park that’s getting a little too friendly.  It’s hanging around the picnic area begging and stealing food. Today it got a little too curious about one of my co-ranger’s lunch.  I was close by and I just happened to have my trusty sling shot with me (I was carrying it in anticipation something like this).  I snatched up a few hickory nuts and headed to the ranger break area not really expecting the coon’ to still be there when I arrived.
It was and it let me get within twenty feet without bolting. I loaded up and let fly.  He dodged my first three shots.
I connected with my fourth and seventh shots and by then the coon had lost all interest in hanging around.

Was it overcast today?  Female Cooter like to lay their eggs on cloudy days.  Unfortunately the crows usually find the eggs if she lays them in the open.

While talking about turtles:  Yesterday, while bicycle riding, (1) I saw a turtle.  (2) I saw a rabbit.
Nope, they were not racing!  Hee hee
The turtle looked like the one in the picture below.  (The bicycle trail follows along the Stones River.)

Was in the shade under a tree and it was sunny. I have 4 crows that stay around nearly full time so I was surprised they didn't attack her. I have a recent trailcam pic of a coon carrying a turtle too.

I got a small non venomous ft long snake out of the pool skimmer today and a couple days ago as well. If they're non venomous I take them out and leave them be as they eat my bugs. I saw a 5ft king snake around a couple weeks ago in my yard too that I left alone because I like it eating my mice and moles. I'll leave the eggs buried since she went through all the hassle. I'm surprised the ants haven't gotten em either. I saw the turtle later in the back corner of my yard trapped by the fence but she found her way out somewhere as she was gone a couple hours later.
