Tested a few rides today as replacement for the one that got totaled.

The 2022 Honda Civic is nice, but the seats are really hard 

It’s hard to find cars today and everything has to be preordered 

Used vehicle market ain't no better, the myriad of worn out, blown up, neglected, over priced, scam ridden vehicles that are out there is just ridiculous. I am lucky to get the van I just recently bought, it was literally garage kept and not over priced. Good luck in your search.

2nd hand vehicles are expensive, too, that is why I want a brand new one.

Right now, you can’t even order the exact vehicle  that you want, e.g., color, trim, etc..

Snow is on its way so the cars get new shoes! I have to get all 5 tires off rims and new ones on and balanced tomorrow. 4 more for mommas car arrive Friday and I repeat the task this weekend. Our local garage wont mount "someone elses tires", you have to buy them (for twice the price) from them. I guess I learn to do it myself this week?

That’s rough. My local Firestone doesn’t like to not sell tires, but I’ve had a good relationship with them for over 10 years. They’ve done work for me with my own tires in the past.

I went the used and older model route so I can work on it and not have a lap top and software to fix it. The new vehicles are over priced, to much gadgetry to go wrong, I don't need it telling me how to drive. I needed a back up vehicle to get me to work until I get my truck fixed. I have upper and lower ball joints to replace, evap system to replace, muffler and sensors. The van had simple stuff to fix on it. I got tired of being ripped off by repair shops, so I learned how to fix it myself. Between service manuals and Youtube I have been able to keep both vehicles out of the shop and my wallet.

The balancer is just out of frame. Its a simple static balancer and with the next oil change, mommas car tires will get balanced dynamically for free with coupon.

The offroad tires pictured only need static balancing since I only drive it 45mph on wasboarded, dirt roads to work and home.

I had good luck using internal balancing beads.

Got both the mowers loaded up and driven to the shop for repairs. Hoping one just blew a rod where the engine can be repaired instead of needing a replacement. Had some stone work with old mortor gone bad so I got it removed and put in a new batch. Used some of the mortor to fill in a hole under the driveway that a 4ft king snake crawled out of and rested on my back patio. Glad it's trying to kill my moles but I don't need it near my patio. Chained the log splitter to the tractor and carried it to the shop to air up the tires. One wouldn't take air so I tightened a strap around the tire then it aired up. Then I connected to the hitch and pushed it back where it was. I'll cut the pieces of the fallen tree earlier this year to use for firewood this winter.

I planted five beds in our winter garden.  Broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage today.  Lettuce, more cabbage, and squash tomorrow.

Drove 340 miles home in 9 HOURS!

Traffic was TERRIBLE! Half the time we were only going 0-30mph on the freeway. But hey, at least we got home safely. We met up with 37 friends and had a great time, great scenery, great fellowship.

Since Sequoia Nation Park was closed except for the private camp we had no traffic to contend with in the Park, just the Interstates and freeways were clogged up badly.

Created, printed and laminated 100+ labels for the newly installed rack system at work. I'll cut them to size and place them today.
Started the the cleaning process at the old residence. Still got a trailer load or 2 of odds and ends stuff to move but we're getting near the end. Looks like it will be no problem hitting the Nov. 1st target. Then we can focus on fine tuning the new place to make it our own. Lots of plans....

cleaned out the garage.  organized my fishing equipment.  washed the 15' sailboat, set it up, took pics, and placed it up for sale on our towns website.  took inventory of the other 2 sailboats equipment.  ordered bumpers for our dock.  washed and lubed my bicycle.  washed and lubed the lawn tractor. 


that's enough for one day.  time to lightly boil some brats in beer and onions before grilling them up.

Yesterday I got a grandson to help wash and wax my 03 Dodge Ram. It was Filthy after the trip we took in it. We went through rain, snow, slush, and mud on that trip. It looks great (like almost new) now though. He polished the bumpers, grill, running boards, and wheels while I waxed most of it. My leg was really swollen last night, but went the swelling went down a lot overnight.
 It is suppose to rain Monday (100% chance) so my plan today is to over do it instead of staying off my leg like I should  .  I want/need to clean out one of my car ports and tarp off the open side that faces a pine tree, so I can park the Dodge under it out of the weather.

Todays weather, like yesterday is going to be near perfect for being out in it 77 with 27% humidity. I love this weather. It's 52 right now, 60 by 9:00 and 70 by 11:00 with a 2-3mph breeze until 3:00 and then winds up to 10mph between 4:00 and 5:00 afternoon.

received 2 phone calls already for the boat.  today i'll change the Yanmar diesel's oil in the sailboat and fill the water tank.  the wife made a comment about all the pressurized cans (hair spray, bug spray) in the gargae so i guess i need to shoot those and toss them in the trash.  afterwards i'll ride into town and look in the provision store for boat items i "need".  maybe some fishing after that.

The first nip of fall is in the air here in Tate’s Heck.  So hopefully we’ll see an end to the red tide.  The mullet are running but they ain’t in the seine yards yet and with this bloom of Karenia Brevis I don’t know if it’s safe to eat them.  So I dropped some crab pots in my secret honey holes.  The one thing red tide is good for is crabbing!
Hopefully tomorrow we’ll be eating blue crab for dinner.

Went on a walk, cleaned a bathroom, showered and went to work from 3pm - 11pm.  Came home, surfing, ordered a knife online, surfing.

Mornin y’all.  Up with the rosy fingered dawn today!  It’s absolutely gorgeous outside!  The pups have been for a walk and I’m about to head over to Mash’s Sands to pull my crab pots.  Then it’s off to my permission to try for squirrels.  Wish me luck!
