Do your self a favor and get into the digital spectrum of TX/RX on that bad boy. They can be had extremely cheap and work just as good as name brand. Only reason I say that is well the tech is far superior with exponential adjustments but the link between RX/TX is bullet proof. I would be scared to lose control of a classic like that only to watch it face plant into a solid and unmovable object.

OH SNAP... You mean the Rabbit hole has grown deeper in 30+ years. 

In all honesty that "rings a bell". I will have to look up the specs on my old Python transmitter and receiver ... I think it was... maybe... could have been my Hitec set up.
I thought I was doing good by going to FM with my JR radio back in the day. That's when the FCC changed the ground frequency from my 45 year old Futaba.

 I tried gliders and Trainer aircraft about that time...
Right /Left, Fast/Slow I could handle... but pitch (up/down) and roll (right/left) proved to be too costly with my crash record.

My dad’s hobby was RC planes.  Back in the 70’s.  The real dark ages of RC.  I don’t remember any of them flying for long.  When they were thoroughly thrashed he would give them to us to shoot full of BB’s then they would get a ceremonious “Viking funeral”.  I still build balsa and paper planes today to remember my father.

The orange one reminds me of one body I painted to look like THE Dukes of Hazards General Lee.  I had it on a Bolink (?) street car.  I named it “Quincey Lee” after my grandpa.  I had that in my early 20s.  Don’t remember all the specs but I had it tricked out with the latest and greatest of the time and that car was lightning fast!  I have seen the stuff of today and I can only imagine what those are like. 🤯🤯🤯

In the late 70's I would go to the local R/C air park and watch the old timers fly planes that cost twice as much as my car (1963 Ford Falcon), but that is how it all started for me.

I’m not a rules reader but I think most anything goes in the back room except for politics, religion or other inflammatory subjects. 

If R/C models is any of that, I need to leave.  😱🤣👊🏼

Yes the back room is there for discussion of other interests and hobbies. As long as you follow the rules you will be fine sharing RC stuffs and I have a good collection of RCs and RC bits and bobs. I probably have something like $20k worth of stuffs and that is what I have if you bought it new not including the stuff I replaced that I broke there is probably 8k in that...
