I wonder if they changed the design some? Mine has an o-ring on the inside so it will have friction to hold it in place. The slant on my sits against the breech with the longer end on top.
For the guys that have a 22 cal, what pellets are grouping the best for you. I started out with Crossman's 14.3 gr and then tried JSB 13.42 gr Both not bad but not super either. Going to order some but thought I would see what's working for you guys!Thanks Bill C!

slug liner ... 5 shot group with NSA 23gr almost under a dime at 95yards.

Yes you could Making a barrel band out of aluminum but I would leave plenty of clearance for some kind of plastic or rubber as to not damage the barrel or tube ...
