What is a Hammerli Nova?

I just noticed the Hammerli Nova. It is an underlever air gun that looks pretty nice. Anyone have one?
https://www.pyramydair.com/product/hammerli-nova?m=1208
It looks almost like a Tech Force 87 in fact they may be one and the same.
Hammerli Titan
Here is a Tech Force 87.
There is a big difference in price. Also the Nova looks like it has a little nicer stock and front piece. It seems the Nova also has the bear trap release on the side similar to a RWS 48. Instead of the safety on the trigger it is the more traditional rear safety.
Anyway, they look similar so they may come from the same factory. On the other hand there are enough differences in the trigger, bear trap, and safety to think it may not.

Don't have one ,but I know they have a flip up breech. I think the Nova is made in turkey. I almost bought one ,but I was looking for a .22 at the time.

I'm such a sucker for those underlevers. I guess its the look of the first rifle my father taught me to shoot. It was an old Remington .22 with an under barrel tubular magazine.
I wouldn't doubt that the Nova is made in Turkey, the Hammerli Pneuma is made there as well. I believe Hatsan makes the Pneuma and probably this one too.
You have peaked my interest enough that I'm going to try and search it out.
A good plus for the Nova is that it has a beech stock and not something made of "mystery" wood.
If I find any good info on the Nova, I will post it for you.

They are beautiful guns for sure. I had one in for a tune once. Only issue is they are almost impossible to take down. My client sent his in for a tune just after he bought her because fps was low. Never could get the fps even close to manufacturers specs. And was below most of the average guns in its class.
Could have been a lemon but for sure it was a bear to work on.

Hey Atch,
This sure looks a lot like a Hammerli Nova, doesn't it?
http://www.norica.es/index.php?opt=2&id=332
I suspect Hatsan makes it for them too...?

I'd say you are correct. Having Gene chyme in about how hard it was to tune makes me want to pass on it. I'm pretty sure Gene could tune a TF 87 to perfection.

Here's something interesting on the Norica Quick.
Gives you a good idea of the internals.

Same type of loading port as the Hammerli Nova

You can get the quick in .22. The quick is made in Spain. Do look the same.

Yes it is the Norica rifle rebadged for Hammerli. I thought Tom Gaylord did a review on the Pyramyd blog on one. Maybe a search will find it. IIRC correctly most complaints are with the trigger. The design of the loading port, although the most safe, causes a large transfer port area. That usually robs power from the design as it causes a loss in swept volume.
"My client sent his in for a tune just after he bought her because fps was low. Never could get the fps even close to manufacturers specs."
They never where popular sellers. I think the Gamo CFX offered basically the same platform for less money. I don't know if a gas ram is available for the Norica.
