That is the exact same brand I bought today, but I chose 45 weight !

Rebuilt the pump on mine today. Obviously this is why it was returned. The seal on the high pressure piston was smoked. Everything else looked good but there was a lot of gunk I cleaned out. replaced the burnt seal with two #006 90D urethane o-rings and reassembled. Pumps verly nicely now and shoots straight too. Dumps all the air once it gets below a certain level. Gonna have to figure that one out.

The rebuild is not bad, would have been a lot easier without a broken left wrist though.

It's infectious watching you dig into your Freedom! So I did some work on mine.
Started at 12 yards, hole on hole 1/4" groups, and then this brazen bozo showed up and was watching me. He seems to know my vegan daughter would eviscerate me if I even tickled him, so he gets a pass

Moved out to 25 yards and was doing about 1/2" groups of 5 (lower three groups). Decided to remove and polish the barrel and found the factory crown job left some pretty deep cuts and wouldn't polish out, so I turned back about 3/8" and recrowned, polished breach and ran out a couple very minor tight spots. 150 strokes with JB polish and it dropped at least 1/8" out of the group, now 3/8" at 25 yds (upper three groups).

Did a super lazy LDC using curlers and #12 cup washers pressed in and fixed with cyanoacrylate. Amazing how well it works for such minimal effort.

Did some chrono work today. CHP 14.3 gr clocked 965.7 with a high of 973.1 and a low of 956.7 . H&N 21.14 gr Barracudas 839.9 low and 852.4 high with an avg of 847.1. It picked up around 20 ftps from polishing the bore with JB bore cleaner. This was with factory spring settings and between 29 and 3K psi pumping 5 pumps after each firing.

My Aspen is here to pump me up!! Better than going to the gym even though I have a free membership to 24HR fitness lol.

I have used it in weights from 20 up to 50 weight and even thinned down with some RWS chamber lube to a 3 in 1 oil thickness as well. Thick for lubing o rings and tubes on assy and thinned out to add to fill port for coating the inside of the air cylinder and part for corrosion protection. A little goes along way.

I used to race RC cars in the 90s so had varying weights on hand to tune shocks for different tracks and surfaces.

Sounds awesome.. I see you're going for that big power shot.
That's the other side of the coin from my goals. Be interesting to see a 10 shot string over the chrono without pumping between shots.

More considerations.....

Remember, this is a 3600 psi gun. All my testing, this far, have been in the 3k - 2k range. I have yet to crank it up to, say.... 3500 psi. I'll get the Vevor out today and bump it up there a time or two but, I would venture a bet that I've already found my sweet spot.
I was looking at that 20 shot string. Looks like I could turn the hammer spring in a bit and bring the fps/fpe up some for my 10 shots. But then again, that would require more strokes to get it back to 3k. I don't know if the extra effort would be worth the payoff for my. My goal was an accurate 10 shot mag at 12+ fpe with the least amount of pumping effort between mags.
I think from here I'll want to stretch it out a bit. See how we're doing out at 35yds or so. Might need to put the scope back on for a bit.
I got nothing better to do today besides wait for that Easter dinner to be ready.

Just about got everything set up outside...
Needs to warm up a bit.. the temp gauge on the compressor reads 52f*.
I was thinking this morning... I've not ran a few other guns over the chrono since I got them. Like the Sumatra and Urban.
No time better than the present.

Totally impressed, on a couple levels.....

It's still pretty chilly out but, I was itchin' to get going.
I left the gun very near the top of the yellow (1500 psi) on the gauge yesterday when I stopped shooting it. That's pretty much where I found it this morning. Leak fixed? Maybe, maybe not.
Either way, I plugged the Vevor compressor into in and fired it up. I estimated 15-20 seconds and both gauges (compressor and gun) read 3500 psi. Both of those observations impressed me.
I put the scope back on the gun and only had to make three clicks right and up to be right on the money at 35yds. Again, impressed.
But nothing compared to what happened next.....
I loaded up both mags and experienced the same dead nut accuracy as I did at 20yds.
But wait, there's more !!!
The gauge showed that I had just barely fell down out of the red.
(The gun is rated for 3600 psi. but the gauge is marked red at 3k.)
So, I reloaded both mags and shot 20 more.... and poi did not move. Same dime grouping. Now the gauge read just above the yellow in the green. Maybe 1600 or 1700 psi.
That's 40 dead nut accurate shots at 35yds with a 3500 psi fill.
Granted, I won't be using the gun like that at all but, it's good to know what it can do.

Filled the gun back to 3500 and went down to the shop.
Fired up the 600 grizzly and went for a perimeter check.
Buzzed down to the swamp pond and stopped in to see Killer on the way back.
Maybe an hour and a half or so.
Checked the gauge and it's sitting right on 3500 where I left it.
I'll fill it up before I bring it in today and see what it does overnight.
I really like this gun.

I've found with the stock spring settings that I lost a lot of vel if I pumped above 3k psi. I am going to do a 10 shot shot string next. Just wanted to see what the transfer port opened up and deburred and the bore polish effect was. I drilled out the transfer port to 3/16 then deburred it with a diamond bur. I also smoothed a little the lead so it's not so sharp.

That would actually round off the bell curve. I didn't get the chrono out yet this morning to run a string beginning at 3500. I may do that later. I want to get the chrono back out anyhow to run a couple other guns over it.
I suspect that ten shot string from 2900 to 2400-2300 will be my sweet spot without making any changes.

I honestly don't remember but it was getting to the point where it falls off quickly probably around 1,500 or so. Once it gets to that point it starts shooting lower and to the left and falls even more with each shot.

No that was on the low setting. I almost never shoot the Aspen on the high setting, it's just too erratic and it gobbles up air. Only when I want some more pop will switch to high.

Good plan, exactly my intentions...

Took the Urban and Sumatra out to warm them up....
I gotta tell ya... if I get the urge for more power, that Urban with the 28.5 EunJins will deliver. And If that ain't enough, The .25 Sumatra with the EunJin 44? grainers is... loud and proud!!
But that's for another thread.
I think those 3 guns cover all my PCP needs.
But, I still have the SPA Varmint, Gen I FD-PCP and a couple "lego" 2240 HPA carbines that are just plain fun. They cover a perimeter walk around the farm here quite nicely.
If I could justify and afford a Stalwart repeater breech for the FD-PCP I'd be all over that.
