Tss degasin tool
« on: March 13, 2019, 10:17:38 PM »
Hello fellas,
Last week I was asking how you guys degas your mrod when there is a ss valve inside the gun...after getting good answers I thought i would let you know how i come up with my own little idea as a mrod degas tool when there is a tss plug install.

On my mrod I do no use the inside spring used in the tss only the outer spring with the 1/2-20 big spring adjuster. The thread inside is a m7x1.0mm

So I took a m7 rod (very hard to find as a threaded rod, I had to order from mcmaster carr since i couldn't source it locally.)

I drill a small hole 3/16  in it so i could use any allen key on hand.

I also drilled a hole in my folding stock adapter to be able to degas without having to take the Gun off the stock.

Just my 2 cents here.

Hope i can post this here.

Alex

Today I took the air out of my brod which has a TSS. I removed the adjuster and and removed my springs. I put the original mrod degassing tool inside where the springs would be and put the adjuster back on. Turned it not even 1 full rotation and it was long enough to push the hammer against the valve and release the air.

Hope this helps someone.

Both great ideas!  I have the gen 1 TSS version that is different, and am not able to use those techniques, but I'm sure others with the gen 2 TSS can.
