So I Had An Odd Malfunction With My D350 Today...
« on: February 13, 2019, 08:37:25 PM »
I havenít been shooting my air rifles a whole lot since the onset of winter. Cold, short days keep me inside a little more than they should. But this usually happens this time of year...
So I figured Iíd knock the dust off and sling a few pellets. So I grabbed one of my personal favorites. My D350. First three shots were right where they should be. Right where I left it set up a few months ago.
Then... On the fourth shot... Something really weird happened... My safety broke. Now when I say it broke; I mean it actually physically broke. The push tab section of it anyway. Upon firing the tab broke clean off, and was ejected rearward out of the gun! Strange... I have no idea what could cause such a thing. Iíve never even heard of it happening... Any ideas? Also... Any ideas where I can get a replacement? This one appears to be made of pot metal, and Iím not sure if a plastic one will do. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would start by contacting these guys:

https://www.umarexusa.com

If that does not work, contact Chambers in the UK.
If that does not work contact Diana in Germany.

Unfortunately, the TO6 D350 isnít among the parts they offer...

Look for 'T06 Trigger Unit' at the bottom of the page.   The 'safety catch' (SF156) is 'currently out of stock', but you may ask them about the time they estimate to the backorder.

Iíll have to give them a call. I really donít want to pay for an entire trigger pack; when all I need is the safety catch...

The little safety lever that releases the safety looks to be part of a larger unit. Give umarex a holler they may have it in stock.  It is my understanding that the t06 trigger is the same in all models using that trigger but you will want to verify that.  I just called them the other day and have the parts number handy.

Probably just can't take the repeated shock from that magnum springer. I would take the safety out and glue the tab back on with some good flexible epoxy which can absorb stresses caused by excessive flexing without delaminating or cracking. You only need that tab to push the safety off. Or if your like me and don't give a hoot about the safety, just remove the safety lever from the bottom of the safety and you don't have to worry about it at all.

Trigger will have to come apart to either epoxy the piece or replace it.  Outdoorman posted a great video on how to take the unit  apart and re-assemble.  Here it is in case you need it.

RWS 34 .22 ARH kit
RWS 34 Panther .177 with Vortek PG2

xs-12 from Mike
.22 Marauder
.177 Marauder Milo74 reg with goodies from Scott.

How do you word it... "Air Guns" or "AirGuns"?
