If you opt for the Mac-1 IA mount, just make sure you order the correct mount for your particular rifle. There are two IA mounts. One for Crosman rifles and one for Benjamin/Sheridan rifles.

I have one suggestion , shoot a tin or until you find the rifle to be accurate or not before spending money on mounts and such . There are complaints from paint inside the barrel which is extremely hard to remove without causing damage . If you get a good shooter , install a steroid kit from mac1 . Turns the tame little rifle into a beast , Iím getting over 30 fpe shooting BBT slugs from mine and absolutely love it with a Williams peep on it .

Qtips and acetone removed it easily from mine.

+1
The steroid is worth it when you can swing it. It makes it a more versatile and durable rifle with zero downside.

The 1400 is a neat gun, smaller and a little quieter than a 392. Donít listen to naysayers about 1400 triggers being bad, they arenít - or donít have to be.

As far as stock iron sights go, the 392 is better than most. The way the stock rear sight adjusts almost completely eliminates slop or the sight accidentally being bumped off adjustment.

This is the buttstock pouch that I will attach to the 392 when I get it. I will also try to fix a sling by using the hole in the spring pin in the front and attaching the sling to the back end using the buttstock pouch as the securing agent ... We will see how that idea works out !

I put a pouch like that on mine too made from leather.
It eventually wound up on the carbine stock of my 1377 though.
It was just right for either of them.

Well, I just ordered a Benji mount from Mac1 and some secret sauce for my soon to arrive 392 .

As I was typing this post, I got notification that my Mac1 order was shipped ..... now that is service. !!! I have known Tim for many, many years and used to visit him when his dad was still alive at the old shop in Gardena, Ca I believe. Tim is one heck of a good guy and REALLY knows his craft ! I also wrote Tim saying I MAY be in the market for some Steroid parts for this gun ;-  )

In addition to the stuff I ordered from Tim, I also ordered a NcStar 2.5 power pistol scope from Amazon.  I'm usually not a fan of NcStar stuff, but this scope got a lot of good reviews for what it is. It seems the eye relief will be good for a scout configuration on the 392.

When I was first thinking of getting a 392, I thought for sure I was going to keep it in a iron sight configuration, but on re assessment I decided to sight the gun in with the iron sights, keep them on of course and add a scout scope set up. At first I was not sure of the scout set up on this gun, but on thinking it over this is really the most logical way to set this gun up IMHO. The scope will fit lower to the center of the bore and of course you now can pump up the gun in a much more convenient way.

The biggest advantage is the fact that both eyes are open and the gun points on target much, much quicker. I think for this gun this mounting system will be a very good thing (as it is on my two Marlin 1895's in 4570).

When this gun is completed I think it will be pretty cool looking ;- )

Little too late. Looks like you got everything ordered and probably shooting it by now. I’m sure you are having a blast. The BE mounts is a very well made mount. They are the only mounting device I feel absolutely confident, wrapping my hand around scope and mount over top of the breech and pumping. However, the 2 grub screws do dig into the top of the breech. That’s the only complaint. So, I’m glad it was mounted on a 392 and not on any classic airguns.
That NcStar pistol scope is solid!! It’s an incredible value. Forget what I spent $20-30 at Amazon when I got it. Thing is a tank very light and quite clear.

I must say, that scope is a real sleeper. It is just the perfect size for the gun, it is pretty darn clear and the windage and elevation adjustments do work. I have set them and leave them. Having this gun set up with a scout arrangement is just awesome, it is so fast it is scary.

I'm glad I chose the 2.5 power version as it has enough magnification for the airgun distances I shoot with this gun and has a good field of view, and the eye relief for my application works just great .... wish I would have had this set up as a kid !
